How do you compensate for being a horrendous dancer?

Twice in the last month I've had a great approach on a hottie; great intro, got her interest, some laughs, and kino. Then at some point it's time to hit a dance floor, but I *hate* dancing, with a passion. I feel that avoiding a dance floor is better than me dancing (very, very poorly).

The first time I got dragged onto a dance floor, I hung around for a song but purposely exagerrated to get a laugh, but then bailed. The second time it happened (at a party) I changed venues and she followed me a minute later, but I really don't think that's the best way of handling the situation. In the first situation, when I changed venues, she stayed on the dance floor for the rest of the night.

How do you guys handle this situation? Things are all go, but she's set on dancing. Do you just force yourself to dance? I used to try getting drunk first, but strangely enough, that didn't really improve my dancing skills. In the second scenario, I ended up getting the girl, but that's because the dancing equation got taken out; that part of the night was definitely not my highlight.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Dancing isn't innate. Get off your ass and learn.

I remember one of my first parties some girls showed me how to freak.

There are about two minutes (possibly more if not drunk) of shame and humiliation.

But then things just click and you enjoy yourself.

Crude but true. Dancing and fvcking are all about rhythm. If you can't dance, my suggestion is to either take an introductory dance class ( Salsa preferably ) or find a broad with some soul and have her teach you. Promise her a 2 hour muff munching . . .

Absolutely, Salsa is the best dance to learn for seducing women. Because the way you dance tells them exactly how you fcuk. Can you take charge and get the job done right, or do you step on her feet, and later in bed accidentally injure her breast or something. :D

depends on what kind of dancing is requrired, like night club or different..

I had NEVER danced at a night club before, and went out clubbing with some girls, and they went out dancing.. so i went with them, and i was feeling that self concious but still did it,it takes me a few drinks first then ya gotta warm ya way into it,it takes about 30 seconds to get into it.. but after 5 minutes your right for the rest of the night, also it helps me to glance at other guys and kinda copy what theyre doing, anyways it gets easy man

It's at least entertaining if nothing else.

It's a misconception that people who don't dance "have no rhythm." I played drums for years, and can count about anything set to a beat, but I am no dancer. They are different skills. I would be more comfortable being a street performing drummer beating on a 5-gal bucket than dancing in a club.

White guys in the US just tend not to dance. I imagine this is great for the ones who do. By contrast, I've spent time in the Caribbean, and there, dancing is a way of life for everyone. Wherever there's a party, there will be dancing. Even when a group of friends is just hanging out, someone will put on music, and everyone will break out into dancing like it's a 1960's surf movie. I've never seen that happen in the US.

Honestly, I fvcking hate dancing; it's retarded. But then again, so are women. Add this to the long list of retarded things we do to get girls.

It is most definetely entertaining =P.

Thing with dancing is you need to know the song, or else you won't be able to groove to it.

And yeah, just cause you can keep beat doesn't mean you can dance well. It's a completely different skill.

I didn't like dancing when I didn't know what I was doing, but I caught on pretty quickly so I enjoy now, but whatever rows your boat bro!
