How do I keep a straight face?

Hey guys.
I'm new here but I have already something I'd like to ask.
How do I keep myself from laughing at my own jokes/sarcastic comments?

Whenever I tell a joke, I laugh all the way and I can't even get to the punchline. It's really annoying. I just want to get rid of that.
Delivering something sarcastic won't have the same effect if I laugh/smile.

Any tips/techniques? I've heard of tongue-biting and I'm going to try that one tomorrow. I'd try it now but I'm in a different setting at the moment. Thanks in advance guys.

Well, tell that joke to your relatives, laugh it out. Then when the time comes you just spit it out. By then it should be boring as hell.

Ha - I always laugh at my own jokes......i;m normally the only laughing ;) People like a smile or a laugh, dont matter if what you say is funny or not, it lightens the mood!
It does lighten the mood. I've tried to bite my tongue and it sort of worked. I gotta practice more I guess. :p

Man it's better if you DO laugh at your own jokes.

If you're looking serious while telling a joke then you might think it might be pretty cool and witty (like comedians on TV), but your job is NOT to be a comedian.

You WANT to laugh! Laughing is cool, laughing is attractive. Laughing is contagious! Laughing is ballsy. Even if the joke is horrible, you're still having fun. If you tell a joke LOUDLY, look a girl straight in the face and burst into laughter, how can she not laugh with you?

Telling jokes with a straight face CAN be cool, but mostly it's kinda creepy. Don't be the guy who stands in the corner and throws sarcastic comments. Because secretly, he hates his life.

I wouldn't worry about it. Laughing along with your jokes is YOU. You are congruent with that, and it makes you a FUN guy. There is nothing wrong with that. I would own it and embrace it.

I personally never liked the joke with straight face thing. Some guys can pull that off, but if you aren't naturally like that, don't go there. It might come across as creepy and stiff.

Stop worrying about it. If you've got canned jokes, then say them a few times in your head before saying it out loud.

Ever see Billy Connolly on stage? He laughs his guts out at his own jokes and he's one of the most successful stand-up comedians on the planet.

Just try to get to the punchline before you forget it :)

I think you guys misunderstood me a bit, haha. I don't have a problem with laughing at my own jokes, haha. It's contagious, I know. But I just want to stop laughing once I make a sarcastic comment, haha. If you know what I mean? If you laugh while you're being sarcastic it doesn't bother the other person as much as if you don't. I know I'll never be able to stop laughing, but I just want to stop laughing once I make sarcastic comments. Even though I'm sarcastic, I get people to laugh. Maybe it's because I laugh, and I just want to avoid that. :p
I'm sure most of you guys will think I'm stupid for not wanting to smile, but oh well. :p

Apologizing for the double post, but could a mod please close this topic? I have realized that this isn't necessary at all and that I have to teach myself certain things for life is all about doing everything yourself (eventually). Thanks in advance.

Even stand-up comedians like Dave Chapelle laugh at their own jokes. It's no biggie.
