Any of you watch this show? I admit I do, and I think its hilarious. So much bullsh1t going on that I can see right through.

2 examples:

1) Tyree - big, macho, perceived alpha male. Can kick everyone's arse. Talks about how much of pimp he is (Big insecurity). Hooks up with this chick Ashley, likes her a little, then meets Jah...something, call her J, falls in love with her. Professes his love for her over and over. Was till seeing Ashley when he met J. He feels the need to tell J that he was fukking Ashley. I have no idea why. Now, both girls hate him. J's trying to get away from him, he's drunk and begging her to listen to him and stay, she doesn't, cops come.....well, it all happens tonight.

He couldv'e kept his mouth shut about fukking Ashley and he could have had 2 girls falling all over him, competing with each other. Now he's jacking off in jail.

2) One of the chicks that fukked that pimp roomate. Calls her boyfriend Jared and admits to doing it, saying she was drunk, caught in the moment, lost the best thing in her life, loves him, blah blah. Well the guy still dumps her (props to him) even though MTV wants to make her the victim. The other black guy's buddy comes to town and this chick wants to hook up with him as well, she does, and claims her boyfriend (Jared) fukked up by dumping her, thus placing the blame on him, and what does the AFC do? Wants her back.

Just goes to show, the alpha males aren't always the DJ. Food for thought.

Post some pix of these people. I don't watch the show nor know who they are?

I did find this slootish "chick logic" from Jenn:
Just before these drunken hormones could go to the next level, however, there was a moment of hesitation as we learned that Jenn actually had someone back home that she truly had recognized that "I sincerely care for." Yes, she deeply, thoroughly cared for this guy (named Jared), and this was best evidenced by her current smooching of John, and of course, her vaginal offerings to Alex on the second night in Denver. But more on that later...

Ultimately, Jenn justified her not-so-faithful behavior by explaining, "I'm twenty-two years old, and I have a natural human nature of wanting to feel touched and fulfilled." Nicely rationalized! Although, last time I checked, I'm pretty sure it's not human nature to be a total, unabashed slut. We then learned from Davis that Jenn's never been faithful to any of her boyfriends (shock!), which means we probably have her absentee father to thank for that.

"I can tell you right now. The bottle spoke for me. It made my decisions, and I honestly wouldn't have made the same decisions sober." Well, there you have it! Jenn's not a slut -- she was only held captive under the mighty spell of The Bottle and its Mysterious Elixir!
Jenn rationalizes sleeping with Alex and says, “Kissing is more intimate than being drunk. Kissing somebody in public at a f**king bar that I go to with — that I go to — to me that’s just as bad as me hooking up with a roommate who I don’t know and being drunk.”

– At least she feels better about what she did. Brooke bonds with Jenn by telling her to “never feel sorry for a man. Never.”

Face it fellas, American girls are good to fvck & chuck, but that's about it. Anything more and you're fooling yourselves...

The producers give the cast members all they can drink all the time for free so that there is as much drama as possible. Most of the idiotic behavior on the show is fueled by alcohol, but that is what gets ratings.

It just goes to show that The Real World is a mindless, contrived and scripted excuse for a soap opera that appeals to people's voyuerism. Do you think for a second that if everyone on that show didn't have some silly, on-going adolescent drama that anyone would watch? If all these cherry picked, nice-to-look-at actors had 8-6 jobs or were deployed in Iraq (like they ought to be), would they have the time for all this he-said-she-said sh!t?

Not trying to burn you SPEED, but as a warning for others, never use anything in the media (movies, TV, music, etc.) as examples to base your estimations of peoples behaviors. After working in advertising and marketing for almost 15 years, I can tell you EVERYTHING is meticulously controlled and calculated for specific demographics and popular stereotypes. They can't afford not to.

No doubt Rollo.....

Pic, for wayword, here: http://www.calgarysun.com/photos/166273.jpg. Tyree on left, Jenn in front middle.

I know this crap is just made for TV. That's why I watch it, because there's so much drama, you almost get addicted to it. Shows you how sad society is becoming.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Personally I don't think that the show is truly scripted. I do believe that they pick a bunch of volatile people to live together and give them copious amounts of alcohol to fuel things. Also, there's a basic formula that they tend to follow when choosing the cast.
  • A princess
  • A gay guy/gal
  • A slut
  • A redneck
  • An aggressive black dude
  • A "moral" person
  • A generally sane person wondering what the fvck they've gotten themselves into
I know it's stereotypical but we're most comfortable with this type of drama. People either relate to it or they realize that their own lives could be much worse.

Good points all.

And ironcially, Rollo is still correct when he said that shows like this are still "scripted" in a sense, even in the absense of writers. All REALITY TV shows are in essence "scripted" by the editors. THEY are the ones who splice all the bits and pieces together to make these chessy, albeit ENTERTAINING, storylines.

Oh yeah, tons of post production editing goes on.

Sports don't count as TV, either.

I agree that tv is mostly for women. But guys tend to be around women and get exposed to non-sports tv as a consequence.

Yup, these shows are all scripted by the casting - which is the exact same formula time and again. Blacks, Whites, sloots & gays. Latinos, Arabs & Asian men typically get left out.

Anyhow, TV is indeed for dumb women & homos these days!

Oh alright,..

TV is for women and NFL, NHL and Jim Rome,..happy now?

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

More like that's the kind of drama most people can relate to.

True, and it seems to make it easier for most people to not only relate to but also comment on; at least much more easily than they openly speak on their own similar experiences.

A caught the tail end of an episode last night and it was like watching a train wreck. One of the guys (the aggressive black guy character) was arguing with a woman who he truly likes because she found out that he had previously slept with a woman they mutually know.

He had cornered her in a room and was yelling at her (he's been drinking) in an attempt to tell her how much he cares for her. This was a big guy and he was hitting things, slamming doors and such so she was afraid and wanted to leave. So he asks if she wants to break up with him (WTF , complete AFC move)!

She doesn't answer and eventually gets out of the house to clear her head and he chases after her, still yelling. The police are there just watching after a call from the neighbors. One of his roommates (I think the sane character), talks to the cops to explain the situation and grabs his friend (who's still yelling) in an attempt to calm him down so that the police won't take him in for disorderly conduct.

After the friend convinces him that he wasn't out there to fight but to help him not get arrested and tells him that he should go back into the house. The yeller calms down and says that he just needs to clear his head in the fresh air before he goes inside.

All is well, right? Nope. In plain sight of the police who are watching all of this, the yeller drops trow and takes a piss on the side of the building! You know what happens next. Mr. Yeller ends up being arrested and taken to detox to sober up.

How many mistakes did this AFC do? Oh, and he could be considered your stereotypical alpha male too. It's sad to watch guys like this who can be an alpha-dog, the center of attention and a player and end up in a cold cell with piss on their hands.

He's got size, but his personality says other wise, NOT a typical alpha at all he's more of a big oaf than anything...if he had the white (straight) guys mentality then I'd agree with you.
