Maybe somewhat of a rant here, but thanks to the countless music videos and just taking a big friggin look at culture itself, it seems that hip hop is the only genre that a man can be 200 lbs overweight and still be accepted, even prized by women and not admonished for his gluttony.

The clothing was designed around large folks. I swear some of those xxxl shirts look more like night gowns than t-shirts. I used to think that the extra size was to conceal stolen goods, drugs or guns, but it turns out that it was designed to conceal belly.

Just think about it: you don't see this in the rock/alternative scene. If Brett Michaels was 350, would he have his sown show? Most country singers are somewhat in shape. Only in hip hop.

Your thoughts?

Well most of mainstream rap seems to advocate greediness surrounding just about everything so its not a surprise this is accepted in the rap community.

This is so true. Its ironic that this is not reflected that much in the women of the genre. Pick up any copy of King, XXL, etc and most of those women are fit (maybe an ass larger than the average mainstream model) but no where as fat as the slobs they drape their bodies over.

Capitalistic society ITSELF advocates greediness. And in our modern times this is only highlighted.

Rap is just used as the scapegoat, get it into your ignorant heads.

For every example of a rapper you provide that fits that stereotype, I can provide two counter-examples.

The fact is, they have money, and they use their money as a source to get girls, and you are jealous that YOU aren't the ones girls are draping themselves over.

In both cases, neither you nor those rappers are REAL MEN.

What about the Italian community glorifying overweight guys? I remember that joke in the Adam Sandler movie 'Big Daddy' with the mafia looking dude.

Also, fat people aren't glorified in either community, only fat people WITH money.

...

you realize those women are paid to act like that in hip-hop videos right?

you realize those girls PROBABLY are in a win-win situation, right? they get paid to get free exposure.

don't quote me on this, but i have a feeling this is a subtle way to get your racial differences out.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

You can't get the women you desire so you call a foul on Hip-Hop? What a loser. And yeah, most capitilistic-driven cultures accept, if not encourage excessive self-indulgence.

They might get the women, but few of the women really want to stay with a fat ugly fvck who sweats all over the bedsheets every night.

John Popper had gastric bypass and weighs in at only 170 lbs. Meatloaf is about half of his former self too.

Look at Jim Gandolfini or one of the other male Soprano cast members. Big fat fvcks who have no issues with women.

You need to remember that in a capitalist society money makes everything "OK".. i.e. social standards are allowed to decay as long in favor of high profits.. Females instinctively move toward the males with the most resorces (money) as these males have the highest capacity to finance them and thier offspring.

Those video hos are not attracted to "physicaly attracted" to those fat rapper.. they are "financially attracted" to them and it does not matter cause its not like these hos are only gona be with those guys. You can bet that they have a variety of of men they call upon when they want a male stripper type to F..

Greed is a byproduct or side effect of excessive capitalism...

Always remember that rap is owned and controlled and profited form mainly by massive corporations that you never see of hear about. NOT BY THE BLACK MEN THEY EMPLOY TO MAKE TEH PRODUCT..

What happened to breakdance being a huge part of hip hop .... man those dudes are in shape.. America is just getting fatter and its starting to show... so instead of breakdancers they put chicks in their video cause it would make that fat fvck look like crap.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXlQ-aUwdSc

if you can't breakdance then you ain't hip hop.
if you are still talking about break dancing then you are too old to fit into the target market demographic that the corporations that control hip hop make most of thir profits from....

Rap is one of the last true Don Juan venues of entertainment.

If you dont like it, theres always American Idol.
