Maybe somewhat of a rant here, but thanks to the countless music videos and just taking a big friggin look at culture itself, it seems that hip hop is the only genre that a man can be 200 lbs overweight and still be accepted, even prized by women and not admonished for his gluttony.
The clothing was designed around large folks. I swear some of those xxxl shirts look more like night gowns than t-shirts. I used to think that the extra size was to conceal stolen goods, drugs or guns, but it turns out that it was designed to conceal belly.
Just think about it: you don't see this in the rock/alternative scene. If Brett Michaels was 350, would he have his sown show? Most country singers are somewhat in shape. Only in hip hop.
Your thoughts?
