wtf do you mean learn the facts, im not talking about HIV, im talking about HPV. here is a link.
here are some facts given from a member from bodybuilding.com that has done ample research on it and is taking medicine in university. "it is estimated 80% of the girls that attend universities have this virus (this is everyone, not sexually active, my bad), and most of the time don't even know it. it doesn't always cause warts and there is no true detectable feature in men unless warts show up. there has been no linkage to cancer in men from HPV. It is true girls can experience cervical cancer but this happens in less than 1% of women that test for HPV. This is because most of the warts can be removed easily, and it is generally the women that avoid the gyno for 10-15 years (gross) that it develops into more than just a wart. It is the fastest growing STD with more than 80 million people in American that have it. It is also the least harmful. Pretty much if you are having sex with people, you will have contracted the virus. I wouldn't blow your mind about it, but you do have to understand that if a previous girlfriend has it, you DO have it. Any contact of contact with genitalia will transfer the disease, it doesn't even have to be intercourse. Any other questions let me know. I wouldn't get too hung up about it though, your biggest issue is knowing that you have to openly tell people you have it before you become sexually active with it. Of course you can always not tell them, but that is pretty assholish Any other questions let me know.

over 100 strands of it as indicated in the website. over 30 types can be passed from one person to another through sexual contact. Most genital HPV infections come and go over the course of a few years. However, sometimes HPV infection may persist for many years, with or without causing cellular abnormalities.
The majority of HPVs produce warts on the hands, fingers, and even the face. Most of these viruses are thus innocuous, causing nothingmore than cosmetic concerns. HPVs also can cause painful plantar warts (on the sole of the foot).
HPVs are now recognized as the major cause of cervical cancer. HPVs may play a role in cancers of the anus, vulva, vagina, and some cancers of the oropharynx (the middle part of the throat that includes the soft palate, the base of the tongue, and the tonsils). Infection with HPV is also a risk factor for penile cancer (cancer of the penis).
