That was an epic thread, shame the forums are invisible at the moment.

Does Gio have stairs in his house yet?

She's not my type (I feel no chemistry) yet I want to speak up on my observations about her and why she's not accepted readily by men. In a nutshell, her description of herself sounds like a guy, or at least how a guy would describe himself.

If you sit back and consider her interests and what she has done, she sounds like she could be cool to hang with as a "bud." But there in lies the problem; one which guys themselves have when attempting to attract a "good" woman. A good woman being one that's not a gold-digger.

The problem is that no one knows what she has to offer as a person. Yeah, she's smart, has good credit, likes sci-fi and the such but so does your pet dog (as long as he has paid off his school loans on time).

But with all of that, who is she as a person? What is she like when she's not in a bar with the rest of the buds? Yeah, she has a sexual appetite but what is she like when you're not banging her from behind? Does she have any attractive characteristics that would make a guy want to do more than just tap it and run?

This is the same thing that women of substance say about the typical type of guy that approach them. Yeah they have a great job, a new car and what ever else that money could buy. He could have achieved a myriad of things in his life including winning the Nobel Prize, the Stanley Cup and the World Series of Poker; but is that all? Where is the chemistry? Where is that "thing" about him alone that makes him truly attractive?

So again, this chick isn't my type but I'd let her buy me a beer and I'd bowl a couple a games with her. Hell, I may even comment on how intelligent a curve her behind has; if she has one of course. :p

L.A. - 4
N.Y.C. - 5
San Francisco - 6 (8 for lesbians)
Butte, Montana - 9
Anchorage, Alaska - 10 (but, if you have a vagina in Anchorage you're a 10)

In all honsety she looks like the kind of woman who'll get into amateur porn once she hits 38. I'm just being honest,..

I don't understand the woman's original blog.

Why would the High Quality Woman say all those things... it makes no intuitive sense to list all of those attributes - heck it makes no intuitive sense to make that entire blog post:

High Quality Woman said:
I’m intelligent (IQ tested at 145 when I was a child, which is 3 standard deviations above the mean -- higher than 99.85% of the population. Even if I’ve gotten dumber as I’ve aged I’m probably still at least a 130, which is higher than 97.5% of the population.)
Who the f*** cares about her IQ???

Can anyone comprehend why some woman on the net would say that she is 3 standard deviations above the mean IQ...

Only reasons that come to mind are:
- she's self-absorbed
- she wants attention

Being serious now; A rich man doesn't need to tell you he's rich, nor does a high-quality woman need to explain (to the entirety of the internet no less) that she is high-quality - their characteristics are evident in their behavior.

No, this woman is about to reach her expiration date and want's to cash in her chips before she's replaced by next years models. She is not unique.

* I’m slim (whereas 62% of American women age 20 to 74 are overweight)

* I’m attractive (my new picture has been rated more attractive than 86% of the women on Hot or Not -- and the women who upload their pictures are a self-selected sample that is probably already biased towards being more attractive than the general female population)

* I’m relatively young (whereas 82% of American adult women are over 30 years old)

* I’m intelligent (IQ tested at 145 when I was a child, which is 3 standard deviations above the mean -- higher than 99.85% of the population. Even if I’ve gotten dumber as I’ve aged I’m probably still at least a 130, which is higher than 97.5% of the population.)

* I’m educated (whereas 77% of American women do not have bachelor’s degrees)

* I have my financial shyt together (no debt, perfect credit history, 6+ months living expenses saved, adequate insurance, self employed)

* I have a strong libido and love having sex (my lover *never* has to beg, unless it’s for me to let him get some sleep!)

* Most of my interests tend to be more popular with men than women: science fiction, libertarianism, blogging, politics, economics, guns, gambling, etc."
Why are y'all bagging on her? These are actually a checklist of things I wish I could find in an American woman. Granted, they are like a n*gga bragging about not being in jail (credit: Chris Rock), yet still incredibly rare in this country...

And, I think she can actually take a good photo when she tries...

Seriously, how many smart, funny, financially-solvent, attractive chicks can you discuss politics with?

As a mature man, I would definitely date a girl like this.

As I said, the rich man doesn't need to tell you he's rich,..

One would think a woman of said quality would have a line of suitors stretched down the sidewalk from her front door, yet here she is making her case. Methinks she doth protest too much,..

Actually, she had narrowed respondents to her personal ad down to 5 last year - and then chose Terrence Chan, a professional poker player:
My relationship with my new boyfriend Terrence -- who I found via my infamous personal ad just before to moving here -- has been going GREAT! My ex-husband Brien was the standard by which I measured all other men, and none ever measured up -- until now. Terrence is even better than Brien! (Sorry, Brien, but heterosexuality is worth a lot of points! :)) Terrence is smart, funny, sexy, kind, affectionate, successful, we share our important values (libertarianism, atheism), we have compatible lifestyles -- I don't think I could have designed a better boyfriend, except perhaps to make him a bit more of a sci-fi geek. :) I'd been pretty miserable over my love life for the past four and a half years so this giddy happiness thing has been quite the adjustment. I'm so glad I got over my prejudice against younger men.
I don't know if they're still together or not, but she can pull some pretty high-quality (independently-wealthy alphas in their respective fields) guys...I've noticed women REALLY like successful entrepreneurs, btw... Maybe that's where I'm lacking right now that's keeping me from reaching that next level?

Bottom line, she's just not physically hot enough, doesn't ooze femininity, and she doesn't quite grasp how important that is to men.

But of course, since she has a vagina, isn't deformed, and seems decent in many other respects, there will alway be a waiting list of chumps for her.

I'm a higher quality woman than she is.

Talk about egomaniacs, yikes. She's "the prize".

After reading her blog, I will give her points for the self improvement angle. I can't say I'd begrudge her a laundry list of pre-requisites; not because she's desreving of them but rather because she's at least acknowledging she has them. The problem is that (as she herself understands) she's loosing marketability and the closer she gets to her mid to late thirties she knows all the education and financial stability in the world wont make her more desirable than the 22 to 27 year old women all the men who'd meet her exhorbitant standards will be interested in.

I have no doubt that she's had many responses to her personals; there's no shortage of accomodating guy's out there ready to sublimate their personalities to get with her, but the reason she has such trouble 'dating' is because the men who won't accomodate her are precisely the ones she wants. This of course explains her divorce and her breakup with Terrence more recently. The two things she expressly lacks are humility and grace.

Now before I explain my opinion of her blatantly Photshopped, Olan Mills, glamour shot, please be sure you have a look at her photo gallery on her blog - paying particular attention to her gaming/sci-fi convention pics,...actually, I think this is really all that needs be said,..

OK I want the 10 minutes of my life back that it took to even type this. Damn you PENKITTEN,..
