As I was struggling to fall asleep the other night a piece of inspiration struck me in the form of a DJ tip which, though I don't think I've ever consciously used it, seems like it could be gold.

Here it is. Say you've just moved to a new place and find yourself talking with a hot coworker/classmate/random girl who's been living there for a while. At some point in the conversation just ask "Hey, do you know a really cool bar/club/etc. around here?"

With any luck, she'll say something like 'Oh yeah, I really like XXXX. I was thinking of going there Friday night, wanna come?' if she doesn't invite you you'll just have to invite her. She said she liked the place!

Variation: if you've been away from a place for a long time but have now come back, ask "So what bar (or whatever) is hip right now?"

I can't be the first person to come up with this. What do the rest of you think?

An oldie but a goodie. Can appear contrived but w/ever, I like it. One of the many tricks that should be in your toolbox.

I wouldn't use it, it's one of the default chump lines people use when they can't think of anything more interesting to say. If you've ever watched videos of chumps approaching women in bars, you'll know what I mean.

"Let me buy you a drink."
"You come here often?"
"You know any cool places around here?"

I think it would be if you're just using it as a 'line', but if you work it into the conversation I think it could work.

You don't ask for 'cool places' - that implies you know nothing and can't search for yourself. I prefer something like:

"What's your opinion on the bars/clubs in this area?"

Use her replies in the situational to figure out likes/dislikes - she might be digging you, but if you invite her to a I don't know, a rock bar and she hates that music, you'll force her to rethink about about, even subconsciously.

Personally, I think it's a great idea (but yeah, it's far from new), and it sounds very natural. It's part of the whole new kid in town syndrome. Women will want to help the new guy out, and it gives an automatic excuse for not having a life :)

Nothing new. Always works.
Women love to share, and love to give their opinions.

This also allows you to easily get their number; in case you need further help.

:)

Good luck fellas.
