Hey I often get girls who say to me stuff like "You're such a handsome guy" "good looking" or "You're very attractive". I guess I'm pretty good looking But this sort of thing makes me kind of freeze on a response...

I mean I am trying to do the ****y funny thing, but i don't want to be TOO ****y. How would you respond to a girl who said this.

I'm sort of an indirect type guy, I build attraction, value before really going into comfort etc etc. Kind of like MM. But when a girl immediately starts saying I'm cute or something how should i respond???

"Thanks" will do you just fine. You don't have to be ****y every sentence you say!

In fact, jokingly modest is even better. If you're really good looking, and you know it, and she knows it, and, in fact, everybody in the room knows it, you can jokingly say "Me? No I crack mirrors!" and everybody will say "Wow, he's modest too!" Just don't act like you really think you are ugly.

This applies to any valuable aspect of yourself. If you are in very good shape, joke that you need to lose a few pounds (JOKE about it, don't be serious!) or if you're an excellent guitar player, even after playing an awesome set say that there's still so much you need to learn. If your car is worth $150k, joke about how embarrassed you are to be seen in your rustbucket - then when they find out the truth they'll think "Wow, he has so much to brag about - but he never brags"

A simple "thanks" will do fine, but it's kinda boring.

I've tried different things. Saying "I know" is a good answer but never did me any favors or got me anywhere.

Now whenever I'm complimented for whatever reason by a girl, I tell her that she has to come up with something more original. "I'm not falling for that" "Try again" etc. It's what's been getting me the best responses =)

I think I'll try some of the modesty thing. "no, i crack mirrors" then some of the playful "hey you're trying to pick me up" stuff.

That seems more my style. I have tried in the past just saying "Thanks". But I don't think that works quite as well.


So what do you guys consider this as an IOI even if the girl says it within minutes of you meeting them? Should I go in for comfort or should i stay laid back ****y and funny for a while before going into it.

i usually aim to do at least 3 completely random and spontaneous things on a date. it used to be so girls would know im not boring but now it's sort of become a bit of personal game i do for fun too lol.

last time someone complimented on my smile towards the end of the date we were walking and in mid-conversation i just screamed really loud and continued on the convo....

she said "haha omg what happened"

i said "what nothing" and continued talking like nothing happened

she laughed

im guessing that one came from the drinks we had but you get what im saying

i dont usually like giving witty responses to compliments, i save my wit for other times when there's no way they couldve seen it coming

I'm not saying that the Soprano Scream Technique is the best way to go but if you're a very UN-serious person like myself u might wanna give the random act in response to compliment thing a try... but if you act all square and serious throughout the date then it may not work in it's full effect lol

at the same time it could show that u don't know how to take compliments... but it is really fun

As long as she isn't doing it as anice compliment to preface a big DUMPaROMA sandwhich, I'd say the standard responses are pretty good. If that's the case, then you have to cut her off before she has a chance to do anything else. You have to do something really spectacular.

OMG... don't listen to some of the above and go out on some big ****y level... smirk or not its arrogant, and reeks of trying too hard to play the realms of C&F...

The fundamentals of such a statement are that the girl is communicating an IL to you... furthermore she's opened a convo with you...

What you want to do is acknowledge her compliment... do say 'Thanks', then open the conversation which will give you a lot more subtle opportunities to demonstrate that you can be C&F at the most suitable times...
