Are you having trouble wakeing up early in the morning? Have you tried going to bed early, but still couldn't wake up early.

Be it for exercise, work, or whatever..

I have found a missing link between being able wake up fresh, vs not being able to wake up at all that early. Strength training, muscle building exercises..

From dumb bells to machines, just about anything you can think of. A routine every other day keeps you refreshed throughout the day, as well as allows you to be able to wake up early in the morning and feel fresh!

I think there's more to it than exercise. Some say it's "needing something to wake up to" or something.

For the past few days I have had a hard time getting up. I had no appetite in the morning, and felt terrible, even though I was getting 8 hours of sleep.

Today for some reason I woke up very easily, and was hungry. I felt great, like I do in the middle of the day. I'm eating a breakfast normally now. Got the same amount of sleep, 8 hours.

I wonder if it has something to do with the "stage" of sleep you are in or something...

Perhaps, I just pulled 2 allnighters in a row with 4 hours of sleep throughout 2 days....just because.

Anyways, there are 30min-1hr periods where I STRUGGLE to keep my eyelids open, but 5AM in the morning I'm fine.

Also, if I take 1hr-90min naps, I wake up fine. If I sleep like 8 hrs or 7 hrs, I cannot wake up with an alarm or anything...I gotta hit that snooze. My cycles are approx. 90 min I think.

There. Now, work out, and normalize your sleeping cycle.

Thanks.

If I sleep any multiple of 1.5 hours, then I can wake up sometimes even without an alarm clock. However, if it's off 1.5 hours by 15 minutes or more, then I'm screwed and don't wake up for a long time.

what are you waking up for each day? what's your motivation? if you're not looking forward to it, getting up sucks, bottom line.

Have you guys ever noticed, that on weekends you wake up early? (well I do)

On weekdays when I have school, I usually wake up around 8:15. On weekends I wake up at around 7:15.

Its because I'm looking forward to enjoying my weekend with friends and I'm pumped to get out and start doing it as soon as possible.

I've got to agree with you 100%.
As much as I love sleeping in, I just make myself go to bed earlier so I can enjoy a full day the next day!
Life's too short to spend my morning laying in bed when I could be doing something else. Although, I must admit, I spend the occasional morning treating myself to sleeping in.

I have delayed sleep phase disorder. My internal clock (in the hypothalmus?) is convinced that a day should last 25 hours. If I stop setting an alarm clock, I go to bed an hour later each day, and go completely around the clock until I'm eventually going to bed at noon, etc.. That just feels normal.

One thing to try: you must resist the temptation to catch up on weekends. You must not only force yourself awake on weekdays, but every day. Show no forgiveness to your wacky sleep cycle. Crush it.
