Does this cause tension in relationships? Is there a way to do it?

My part time job is related to my father, even tho i never see him at work because I choose to work at night time instead of day time. Still, if there are any complaints coming in, I have to listen to them from my own father, wether its during dinner, a nice drive or if we are just chilling. It has lowered our releasionship. I will never work full time for a close family member. The main reason is this: If somebody doesn't show up he asks me to replace him first. I always say no because I know if I say yes once, I will be asked more often and expected to replace co workers. This puts our releasionship in a lose/lose situation, I'm just glad I never see him around the workplace. Thats my expierence.

Thanks for your input Dedi, maybe you can talk about how you feel with your dad?

Is there anyone that can share experience having worked for their partners parents?

Well, kind of related, but an ex-boyfriend of mine and I worked together... and it was great! I felt more comfortable at work and we never had any issues. I thought we might, because we had a relationship, but it actually worked out pretty well.

I also worked for the same security company my brother worked for and we never had any issues, even though he was my superior, and we still lived at home during that time.

Hope this helps!
