Has anyone used the new gillette fusion razor blade? Is it more effective compare to 3blades version?

Re:

It's so fawking expensive for a 4 pack, i need a mortgage to get 8. I'm nearing the point of REFUSING gillette products for the sheer abomination they are for the man with strong stubble. My razors lose their "orange line" in about 4-5 days of shaving, maybe less. I drop about $20/month on blades, or $240 a year.

I'd seriously appreciate alternatives, and not just cheaper blades, b/c I have sensitive skin and have tried different blades.

I have spoken to the owner of spa who said MOST off the shelf products are designed for flawless, model-like skin, because most guys have thick stubble, rough faces, and normal skin. If you have soft hair, or no hair, then blades won't wear as thin, IMO. He recommended different blades, and different shaving cream. But now I can't even remember what he said. Fawk.

My buddy pick up a blade that was akin to the single blade the barbers used to use, and has sworn by it. His single blade packet of 10 has lasted him something like 3 months or more and is still going (a christmas gift). I've been meaning to get near boston, where he bought it and trade off. He said it takes getting used to, but its well worth the shave and the savings.

All guys using ALTERNATIVE means of shaving or not shaving, please post.

lol... I hear you man!
Sh!t is mad expensive.

Held off for ages on getting a new pack of blades, but its a necessary evil. At first I didn't like it, but now I got used to it. And I have some thick ass facial hair, so the extra blades go to good use. The 1 blade on the back, can kiss my ass though, sh!t is worthless.

All in all I'm down w. it. But like A-Unit said... fockers get rico$.

Now that you mention a straight-edge... might not be a bad idea. I'm gonna be fckin shaving for the rest of my life. Might as well get used to it, and get some tack sharp, cheap shaves in.

Anyways... just got some new aftershave creme from the Body Shop. Bout to give it a go in the next few days. I'll be sure to fill you in on it.

P.S. I lived and travelled in India for a year. Since everything is so cheap, and the dudes mad hairy... theres barbers all over. A true pleasure to just waltz in and get a professional shave, from a master at it for about 75 cents. They all use straight edge razors too. Tack Sharp, and mad skilled with it, from their 10,000 shaves a day they give to every1. Think that might be the route. Plus how pimp is a straight edge!? lol

I found that electrics razors are reallly, really, really good (for sensitive skin). They shave really smoothly and even if it misses a stray hair here and there, it's really easy to shave off. But that's with my dinky $20 one. A high quality one would work really well.

For sensitive skin I agree you can't beat an electric, but that doesn't really give the closest of shaves, and it doesn't bring out the beard like a razor does.

Alright... reporting back.

I got solid facial hair, and to find some combo that finally works this good... I'm stoked! Never had results this good yet.

No shave burn, no micro pimples from stubble growing in, NOTHING.

These are the 2 products I used:

Just normal, Gillette Shaving Gel (sensitive skin)
http://www.drugstore.com/qxp16422_3...ries/shaving_gel_sensitive_skin_cool_wave.htm

and...

This Aftershave from the bodyshop.
http://thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/browse/product_detail.jsp?productId=prod170084&categoryId=cat30098

I think the aftershave was the key.
Great sh!t.

Listed the products so you could see'em.
I'd reccomend going in for the aftershave though. Always some bunny's in that store, or working there. ;)

Peace'

I like it but I still get the same kind of shave with the Mach III nitro and save an azzload of money. For all of you guys who shave your heads, If you want to have a clean scalp, head to the nearest Wal Mart and pick up some Witch hazel. Immediately following your shave splash some on and let it dry. It has worked wonders for my complexion.
