Has anyone here done or doing P 90 X?

Well here is my physique as of last week, 6 feet tall and weighed around 205. I have lifted weights for a long time, and really don't want to get any bigger. There is just no reason for me to weigh more than 200 and to be as big as a body building guy. Too easy for me to put on fat and to look bloated at that weight, plus since I play so many different sports, it could have a negative effect. So I am looking to get down to around 195 and get much more lean and cut, which p 90 appears to be doing for me, along with my improved diet of course.

P90X Results

I have 3 glorious days left of the Classic P90X and have transformed my soft(inches of spare tire) 6 foot 173 pound frame into a chiseled and lean 184 pound "mountain of molten lust." Thunderlips: Rocky III.

Since becoming a dedicated disciple of Sosuave 7 years ago I've mentally taken back my natural Alpha male attitude that dear mom smothered as a kid, "Be nice to girls!" but physically I've always had an ok body and never took working out seriously. Well, I turned 40 recently and chronic abuse can add pounds quick. Bought P90X and have been eating perfect and training hard. Couldn't keep up with gay Tony for the first month, but then fell into step. I focused on low reps and heavier weight to add freaky mass.

Now... every time I go out I hear compliments. That's plural. My surface friends that haven't seen me in a while are genuinely astonished. Girls are on my jock like static cling. It's not even fair anymore. :eek: I take my shirt off with pride like Chris Evans in "Captain America." Before I was completely ashamed like Fat freakin Albert.

I've built a yolked X frame. Solid legs. Wide lats. All those damn pull-ups payed off. Pecs. My arm diameter is much thicker. And abs. I've been too doughy to ever see abs. Abs are like crack to the ladies. Crack abs. Had to buy new clothes cause of loose waist-ed paints and shirts that looked like those "Hawaii 80" Scott Baio cut offs.

So for my frame and the way I wanna look... P90X is awesome. All the years off and on in the gym I never saw real results. Horton has it dialed in. I shedded the spare tire and added dense muscle. It hasn't been easy mind you. I tell people it's the toughest 3 months of their life. Just bring the intensity.

Go get P90X. I found it online for 60 bux. Borrow it from your beta friend that tossed it in the corner next to his overused XBox. Buy a quality pull up bar, some decent dumbells and push-up bars. Go deep. Make the time. You will see a transformation. Cheaper overall than a gym membership and the payoff can be outstanding. It's all up to you.

That is great to hear Barry. Always nice to see some people get the results they want and deserve. Maybe you could post some before and after pics if you have them? I know that is big with the P 90 X crowd. And you are right, it is a helluva program as far as intensity and how hard it is. But well worth it with the results you see.

As for me, I ran into a bit of a snag. Saturday, during literally the last 5 seconds of the post workout stretch after doing Kenpo X, I felt a twinge in my middle back. I knew right away what it was, strained rib cartilege. IF anyone has ever had that, you know how painful it can be. So anyway, Sat night it hurts, but it isn't that bad. I can get around fine. Sunday I go to the store to get a new computer chair, and as I am lifting it from the cart to my truck, a SHOCK of pain goes through my entire body, starting from the hurt rib. I drop the chair, bend over, gasp, can't breathe. I mean it hurt like a mother. Gf takes me home, I hobble to bed. After a while it starts to feel better, though last night and today, just breathing in deeply hurts. However, I was not going to miss a day of P 90 haha. Luckily this is a recovery week, so today I had Yoga X, and then the rest of the week is core, stretch, more yoga, and Kenpo. So I should be able to get through it. Doing Yoga today was not as bad as I thought, and I was able to get through every move while sweating my azz off haha. That yoga X will make you work!

Well I am now in week 11, and have yet to miss a day. Have lost 16 pounds in those 11 weeks, and am getting in great shape. Am down to 197 from my 213 starting weight, and remember I wasnt really overweight to start with, so anything I am losing now is the fat that is super hard to lose. Once I am down with my 13 weeks I am going to start a hybrid p 90 x and deadlift/bench/squat program.

Well last Saturday I finished my first round (13 weeks) of P 90 X. 6 days a week, did not miss one day. Quite proud of myself on that. Lost 20 pounds, and am way more cut and in shape than when I started.

Today I went over to bally's and lifted free weights for 1 and 1/2 hours. I didn't mess around either. 6 sets of deadlifts, 4 sets of squats, 6 sets of bench presses, inclined dumbbell presses, etc. And honestly, it was too easy. Not trying to make it seem that it is, but there were times doing P 90 X that I was ready to puke, pass out, etc. Today just lifting weights (heavy weights at that) was like a walk in the park. I had to chuckle at some of the guys that would get done doing a set of whatever and throwing the weights down all winded. They have NO IDEA what winded is. Do the core snyergistics CD of P 90-then you will know what winded is. I think I will do a hybrid of P 90 and gym weights for 1-2 months-mainly doing squats, deadlifts, and bench presses at the gym 2 days a week along with P 90 cardio, yoga and one resistance CD/week the other 4 days, then do another full round of P 90 X.


I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone wanting to get into shape do 3 months of P 90 X first, and then do free weights. Trust me after P 90, the free weights will be cake.

You can't target different parts of a muscle. When a muscle is activated, the entire muscle is activated.

This is why you can't target "lower abs" and its also why in fact, incline bench doesn't target the "upper chest".

Yes, a muscle may be separated into different portions, but when that muscle is used, it does not segregate itself into these portions in terms of activation or building.

That is all genetic.

I've done this back in 2001, but it was called "beachbody" back then, and I'm not sure how much they have updated it since.

Me and my brother did it together in 2001 and it worked GREAT. He got absolutely shredded and ended up having his infamous "eight pack", rather than a six pack :). I also got great results but for some reason he got even better results. Go figure, it might have been his diet, as I recall I still dind't follow the best diet practices all the time.

I'm in a muscle building phase right now at the gym, on a high protein diet plan, but in a few months I would like to do P90X go get even more "lean and mean".

PS. BAck in 2001 videos, they had this finneeeee chick in there on some sections LOL. Man, she just had the best body :).
