The only Mexican people I have ever had a problem with were so jacked up on coke that they didn't realize the two of them were picking a fight with 12 mma fighters. One of them grabbed our HB10 ring girl by the face and tried to drag her out of the bar. They were wearing suits, probably to conceal what they were carrying under them. I was convinced I could knock the guy out before he could reach into his coat and pull his hand back out, but the giant bartender saw me looking at him and threw them out. He was picking me up to bounce me out next, and I said it wasn't me man it was the Mexican Mafia over there. He laughed so hard that he dropped me and walked off. Those guys stole the ring girl's phone and got arrested with it later that night after running from the cops and crashing a stolen car. They were looking for trouble and I could tell that from the way they carried themselves. It would have been easy to think that they were not dangerous just because they were not big guys.
Actually, a small white dude, but the same thinking kind of applies here. Its makes sense for smaller guys to carry weapons, and its very easy to obtain and conceal a knife. So I can see why a lot of mexicans do it.
And as someone else said, sometimes you just gotta back off because you dont know whos carrying what. I remember I was visiting the big city last year, and these kids (11 to 15 yrs old Id say) were blasting their speaker very loudly on the subway while doing their dance routine. A woman decided to ask them nicely if they could lower it, as it hurt some passengers ears.
I had my earphones in at the time, so it sealed off a good bit of their music, but I could tell what was happening. One little kid got fresh with her and actually stepped to her. Thats when I got up and told the kid to never step to a woman like that. And that if he wants to step to someone he can step to a man. Then the little bastard started saying how Id get knocked out, and then his friend interjected and said "no sir, hes not gonna do anything" and tried to defuse the situation.
Mind you all these kids are scrawny as hell, no taller than 5'6 or 5'7, and I outweigh each of them by at least 60 lbs. Id have destroyed that little sh!t talker if he tried to come at me. But when I told my friend about it later, he told me Id have gotten in major trouble. First, for assaulting a minor, because I couldnt even be sure the kid was in his mid teens, which would make it worse if I struck an 11 or 12 yr old. Secondly, messing with city teenagers you dont know could easily get my ass kicked if they had weapons themselves, no matter how small they were.
So while I do try to do the right thing and defend myself and other law abiding citizens, lately Ive learned its best to just avoid idiots unless you absolutely have to intervene or get involved in something. Its a shame though that despite weapons leveling the playing field for law abiding citizens to defend themselves....weapons also made it easier for cowards and pussies to start crap with people and try to create dangerous situations.
