Jury is still out for me too. Everyone in my family, nuclear and extended aside from my aunt and uncle and my parents; though it wasn't a great marriage. I already went through an annulment; which was fought all the way until the end by a lady who said she didn't want one. My friends are all divorced and have little money since the "equitable distribution", pvssy support payments and child support payments. Some of my co-workers are going through a divorce and two were close to suicide when they went through it.

One guy, which is a no BS dude we all thought he would make his marriage work because she was aces. She stopped doing anything around the house, no cooking, wasn't taking care of herself, mustache, armpits, hairy legs, gained over 40 LBS just 2 years into the marriage. She was apparently threatening to leave and didn't care to work through their marriage issues (again this is third party info). Sex stopped a year or so ago and she said (I was at their house with a few of our friends, yelling I'll leave when I damn please. He filed for divorce that week and since his home was premarital, he got the court to remove her from his house under an emergency well being order. He said, before she left, with the deputies as her escort, she yelled, I'll bleed you dry with attorney and legal fees. Even if I get nothing, you'll pay dearly.

Why would I want to go through that? Look at the world we'd be bringing people into. The world now is not the 70s, 80s or even 90s. It's garbage. It's literally PC this, gender warfare, men suck, ladies rule and you get divorced after a kid or two. They do not even say her or his marriage, like it's for life. They now say his or her first or second marriage. No thank you.

Then her and stepdad were married for 30 years and he died. My mom, now 73, says she is lonely but also knows that she is past the point in life where men will want her. So rather than dwell on it she just does things with alone or with friends, what she wants, when she wants, and how she wants. She has multiple hobbies and two homes, one in Florida and one in Illinois, And an abundance of friends both places. Her latest deal is she wants to go skydiving. I think the old bird will eventually do it. She is a very mentally strong woman though I doubt a lot of these women today as they grow older will be able to become as content With themselves as mom is, but that’s about the only choice they’re going to have.
