Happy New Years guys! Im quietly spending it with my folks. We made a few dishes.

My dad and I took a drive a while ago to see the Christmas lights around our area. Think I’ll go to a coffee shop tonight and reflect on this past year.

Well anyways, you guys stay safe and get a designated driver if youve got too much to drink.

Happy New Years.

Amateur night at the bars.

Lots of places are couples heavy.

You sound busy and stress…You need to take a roadtrip to South Padre Island man
I'm not sure how stating that fact makes me sound busy and stressed. I have said that exact same time on other threads throughout the years. It has been a more stressful period in my life. Excited to see 2024 go away and looking forward to 2025.

It's common for Dallas area people to go to South Padre. South Padre Island is a somewhat long drive for Dallas people (around 9 hours if traffic cooperates). There are people who fly to Harlingen/Brownsville (depending on airline) and then rent a car there.

Next week is supposed to be cold in Dallas so it would be good to go to the Rio Grande Valley/South Padre. RGV and South Padre don't appear to be getting Dallas' cold air that is forecast to arrive in a week.

I have to pay a $ 2000 fee to keep my Realtor Board association in good standing. I'll be maxing out one of the last credit cards that I have which has a little money on it. The deadline is tonight. You can see I'm really looking forward to this. Yeah, happy new year!

Just made the payment. The credit card used has a 40% interest rate. Lets see if next year goes any better than this past crappy year.

If you don't have any action plan to make it better and to do something about it, it's not going to happen on its own.

So what are you planning to do to ensure a better year?

I just executed part of that plan....to keep working the Real-Estate leaeds from the new office I recently joined. The only solution is to make a good commission in Real-Estate transactions in addition to full-time work which is coming up short in making ends meet.

Apart from that, there is not much else I can do if I'm staying with that full-time job. I mean, what makes the last year crappy is the set-backs that I have experienced that were outside of my control. On one hand, I can't control bad luck or things not working out. You can only plan for the best. Last year allot of things did not work out favorable with me. It's not to say that every year is just going to be bad luck and misery.

I mean other plans would be to declare bankruptcy or enter into a consumer proposal (chater 13 bankruptcy) on the debts if things continue to go sour with me on a relatively smaller debt than before (ie on a previous action I had $ 187,000 worth of debt, this time, it's just $ 30-$40K worth of debt). However, the goal is not just getting rid of debt, especially a small one at that, but to make money. If you are broke all the time and have no time because of working at a full-time job, there is not much else to work with beyond that.
