It just so happens I did the condom-checking strategy this past summer with a woman around my age.

Checking the condom took all the joy out of sex for me. If condom-checking is the solution to a pregnancy phobia, count me out.

Don't overthink this. Older women have plausible deniability via:

- Rank (older = more experienced)
- Desexualization (older = menopausal)
- Social status (probably married or partnered, unlikely to be hitting on you or perceived as such)
- Gender (they get more latitude than older men)

A young hot woman is not going to hardcore kino you unless her interest level is through the roof or her inhibitions are lowered.

When the odds of pregnancy are extremely low to begin with, and the odds of miscarriage (in the event a pregnancy were to occur) are relatively high, I'm willing to take my chances.

Also worth taking into account is the fact 45 is merely my minimum age. My preference extends into a woman's 60s. Once she's above 50 or so, the odds of pregnancy become next-to-impossible.

So your fear of anaesthesia wearing off and resulting in pain is unwarranted.


Of course, your misinformation fuels your anxiety and you expect the worst case scenario, because you want an excuse not to have a vasectomy. Sorry, you'll have to find another excuse, because the procedure is never painful.

Unless you get it done in a third world country with a rusty bajonet, but I assume you'd get snipped in the US.
