Well.. as i knock on the door of 40 ive noticed the top of my head really starting to thin. Ive tried keeps shampoo and conditioner but its not really helping.

Options:

1. Shave it. (My head shape isnt great and im pale)
2. Finesteride (Side effects can be ugly.)
3. Hair Transplant FUT vs FUE (Most require Finesteride use forever)
4. Live in a hat.

I did transplant and finesteride. The side effects are hard to pin point, Id try it before shaving to see if you have any issues.

Fin side effects are overblown, plenty took for years with no issues at all, myself being one of them. But,you have to see your own doctor about this, not advice on a forum

I’ve heard good things about dermarolling. Peppermint extract. Ultimately. See a reputable MD who specializes in this issue.

Norwood 1. You seem fine. Get a MD consult. Usually those are free.

Iirc at this stage you can still "save " your hairline. The hair follicles are probably still active/not dead yet.

One theory is that once a follicle dies it can't be revived. Like a plant that's bout to die, it can be saved as lonh as the roots are alive..once the root dies, the plant dies as well.

Another, rather philosophical theory is that your follicles actually dont die, but get blocked of nutrition due to dead skin, lack of bloodflow ect. Hence why a derma roller might work, because it "opens" the path to the roots and allows nutrients to get back into the follicles.

If unacceptable results are found with finasteride, then dutasteride will be the answer. It has faster/better results in comparison studies.

I don’t think you have a hair issue, and I don’t think most women would either.

I’ve heard horror stories about finasteride.

Living in a hat is awful.

I think getting the appropriate haircut for head shape and hair type is the best move for all. That’s what I do.

I’m 44 and have had a receding hairline and balding crown for a long time. Neither has hampered me. I think men overrate hair issues.

All men fear balding and will have some degree of stress of issues with mentally coping with it if and when it does come. My personal theory on this is that when you lose your hair it is a sign that your youth is now in the past, that you are aging and that you will eventually die.

As of this moment, until any changes are made in the new farm bill, the cannabinoids they used in the study are legal in every US state, because they are hemp derived.

Yes, many fear it.
As said, I have had some baldness for years and I haven’t been negatively affected, like, at all. My youth is in the past (44 now), and I accept it. My physique and fitness are great for my age, but I know those will go downhill in my 60s.

One side effect is it turns your hair from stringy scarecrow status to lush wonderland of thickness. Gym seems unaffected. The *** density might be hampered in someway, least from what I've heard, for me is hard to tell. This stuff is like putting down irrigation for your hair, it's pretty remarkable. Testosterone I think dries it up hence the male pattern baldness.

None of the above. Shave your head and own it like a boss.
Yeah for some I agree however go on you tube and look at the modern toupee videos, they call them something weird like hair systems or something.

The difference in attractiveness on some guys between bald and hair is undeniable, can take off literally 30 years of age and move them from a sub 5 to a 8, no exaggeration. Be hard combo to have for a ltr but for a plate why not........

I agree. Especially black women don't do anything else. If you meet a black woman she might have a "hair piece " on and you wouldn't necessarily even know.

Because women and their looks is everything to them. So they become savy using wigs. So women got
- wigs
-fitness
-tight clothing
-make up
-even close with fake azz/tits
-color lenses

While all a man has is fitness and clothing.
And as we all know, without fitness you basically deny yourself from the ability to wear 50 or more percentage of clothes because it will look ridiculous without a fit body.

While men just sit back and hope for the best womem aint with that shyte. They will definitely fake it till they make it( make you lust over her).

Oke , I have to say that I DO feel @BackInTheGame78 that all of the insecurities around hairloss are out of the window soon as you embrace it and own it. Yet you're ALSO right that some men gain /lose 3 smv points with or without hair.

Eventually hair, teeth, body, skin, style, financial status are all important at some point. Tbh if a man scores below average on ALL of these things, he becomes invisible to women. I named 6 things, could as well say characters, frame, pov on life ect. But it becomes so much more difficult to pull women without the right kind of look.just facts.

Many guys look BETTER without hair and look more aggressive, masculine and/or badboyish.

I kinda love the way I look now especially after getting one of those 9 blade head shavers where I can just run it over my head every few days and keep it trimmed and completely bald and it only takes like 5 mins or less.

Topical finasteride should do the trick, but it stops working when you stop taking it.

If you take oral route, your body will have a hard time accepting androgens as finasteride is literally designed to block androgen receptors to increase hair growth. Topical does the same thing, but localized only to the scalp/affected area, whereas oral route is system wide.
It can also have long lasting and terrible side effects that can persist even if you stop taking it. I would never touch the stuff.

I am in the same exact boat. My hair has slowly been thinning out on the very top of my head for about five years now. Mine is actually slightly thinner than yours is, but I have gone to wearing it very short in a buzz cut fashion. Not shaving it bald, but I likely will slowly transition to that over the next 2-3 years. Honestly, I have been complimented by just about everyone I know - women AND men. And my hairstyle prior to this was very similar to your own.

It gives a more intense look to my face which I will say can be good and bad - but frankly I think it overall looks better to my eye where it isn't clearly thick everywhere except on the very top of my head where you can clearly see it is thinning out. Overall, I am glad I made the change.
