For the past several years, I worked at a job where we had a gym inside the facility, so I kept my nose clean and only talked to friends and coworkers I already knew during workouts. But this month, I changed jobs and am using a public gym. And lucky for me, this gym has its fair share of HBs.
While my workouts are intense (I'm not walking around smiling at everyone) and my primary objective is keeping in shape, getting to know the HB8 next to me on the treadmill or the HB9 in front of me on the squat rack could be a good thing. My question to you is, how long should I be a familiar face at the gym before approaching them doesn't make me look like a creep? Ideally, they see me there every day and say hi or smile, but us guys are almost always the ones who make the first move.
