And how close they are to the values imparted by your background. The more overlap, the less important your background becomes because it's roughly similar. The more dissimilar it is, the more important the size of the overlap becomes.
But those values usually stem from their socio-economic status/background. That is why I included the non-applicable classes because they can relate to more than one background. I like professional sports & entertainment because they have the best examples of transitory classes in it. Notice the athletes from lower income backgrounds are more likely to date girls of lower income backgrounds while athletes from middle class or higher income backgrounds stick to them or date higher. Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are great examples of this, they all date or settle for women from similar economic backgrounds. Even Russell Wilson (I looked it up, so don't try lol).

That is because they are more comfortable around these women.
Just as Bruce couldn't relate to model Julianne, but is happily married to Patti.

You can see the effects of this in the dating world. The guys struggling the most with women have huge gripes with college educated careerist women. I have never had any issues with these women, but I did struggle greatly with women when I lived-in small-town America during my first job. Last, I want to add that middle class in America is pretty broad. Middle class can range from 70k to even a millionaire in some cases. So yes, even if you make 50k a year, you will share some similar values with a surgeon making 400k a year.

I have done this multiple times and your level of success is going to depend on whether or not the woman grew up around trash.

You can take the poorness out of the poor person by giving them money, but you can't take the trashiness out of trash.

My current gf grew up on the lower side of income but was raised by a good father and got excellent education around high income people, and we don't have problems getting along. Another ex grew up in a trashy area and she preferred to associate with trash and losers, which is one of the main reasons things never worked out.

I myself grew up middle class with good education.

I was raised in a non-conformist artist family. I rarely cared about my own socio-economic background and dated across different 'classes'. To me, I'm more interested in other factors.

To put it another way, it's not the socio-economic background itself that matters but rather the values that are imparted by that background.
I've met people of what some may consider highly disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds that have more honor, integrity and morals than 99% of "affluent" people. You can be very modest and still uphold good values and mores in your family.

That's why socio-economic can be a factor, but not a decisive one.

I think we are missing the point. A person that upgraded from their socio-ecomomic class through good values, morales, and etc is considered non-applicable to the subject. I am straight up talking about a @AmsterdamAssassin the Cardiologist or Partner Accountant dating a random Mcdonalds register girl with no plans on leaving that situation simply because he thought she was cute.

My gf grew up poor and got a decent education/job through good morales and work ethic. Yes, we can relate to each other enough, but there's still differences we have due to our upbringing. For example, she refuses to waste food especially meat while I don't give a flying fvck about wasting food or anything. Some similarities she picked up is the value of going to college/pursuing a skilled trade, bootsraps mentality, politics(political views in each party differ based on socio-economic status like a poor democrat or republican will have a different mindset and interest than a rich democrat or republican), and etc. These pickups and drop-offs can differ from individual, but the whole point is that they retain and acquire some traits from the two respective classes.

Economically, I'm in a different status than Socially, so being a well-educated ruffian makes it kind of difficult to put me into a certain class.

If the McDonalds register girl is an avid fiction reader, she has a better chance with me than a woman working middle management who doesn't read fiction.

Then again, I think that socio-economic status might be more important if you want a woman to be more than another intimate companion.

Yes a distinction should be made between short term and long term goals.

While a smart and educated female appeals to me more in the longer term, it is not truly a measure of relationship success. Intelligence can be but education is not.

Cultured is important to me. I don't want to swine with uncultured sows.

Socioeconomic status is important but I'd never turn down a hot girl with a nice personality who likes me, that's crazy.

I can see how it would suck to date a broke girl that can't even pay for her own bills, let alone go 50/50 on anything.

I can also see how it might suck to date a girl with a McJob who can go clubbing on Wednesday night when you've got to be up at 9am for your career. Definitely going to make you look lame and get cheated on.

On the flip side, you wouldn't want to date some spoiled brat whose knowledge of finances is limited to "daddy pays for everything I want".

Then you are ok with being a provider :)
This is just one of the retarded things that are preached here
One one hand it does not matter what she does for a living, on the other hand none of these dudes want to be providers
If you do not want to be a provider then you should date girls at your social economic level or higher
I don't care if the girl is below, at, or above my socioeconomic level, frankly.
But I absolutely want the financial ability to be a provider.
