I knew of this Chinese kid who had a "tiger mom" (but in an unlhealthy sense). She never let him hang out with his friends, she kind of made him isolate in a way. He studied a lot. Guess what, he jumped off a building. Chinese guys are super afc (for the most part any way).
I'll tell you exactly why this is happening because I see it here EVERYDAY. This is what happens when you spoil children to the point of them going
nuts when they don't get their way. This kid was likely told, everyday, that he is wonderful and special and can do no wrong. I'm surprised the kid is not Chinese.
I wrote a thread about raising kids before but I'll just repost a little about my experiences here.
I've seen a kid beat his grandmother with his fist on her face until she bled cause he didn't get to play with her phone. I saw a kid turn around and punch his mother in the face when she lost at a mother-son english game. I've seen a kid go full retard, throwing chairs and books in a classroom when people didn't pay attention to him. I was punched in the face from a kid who I asked to leave a class. I've seen ALOT of **** here from badly parented children. These kids are never smacked or hit so eventually they grow up thinking they can do whatever they want to anyone and there are no consequences to their actions.
This is what people are referring to when they talk about 'special snowflake generation'. Its simply hands off parenting coupled with spoiling the **** out of the kid. You saw the nice part, you never saw the part where they are throwing the tantrum behind closed doors... I get to see it up close and personal everyday. I know PERSONALLY of a young, super spoiled, rich, boy here who told me he stalked a girl, followed her to her house, hid behind a barrell with a knife in his bag and was going to cut her to pieces. At the end he said he couldn't go through with it but that he really wanted to and still really wants to. He brought a graphite knife to school one day just to show me how he would do it to. He's 13. She also rejected him for something or other... so yeah. BTW if you are wondering why I haven't gone to the police? Well in this country they don't GIVE A FVCK... just like the parents.
More recently, (this week), my wife had a bunch of erasers and books thrown at her and the teacher on duty after a kid lost at a game and had to do a dance infront of the entire class. That was the penalty for losing and I guess he thought it was funny when the other kids were doing it but when his turn came, he got up infront of my wife, screamed "NONONONONONONO" in her face and then went back to his seat and threw the contents of his desk at her. [we are not allowed to fight back]. The kid was 15. This happens almost every single class, at least once... so nothing new here.
The problem here is that when you tell an 'authority figure', they come in, sternly talk to the child and then pat him on the head... they think that somehow solves the problem. 15 years ago the authority figure would have come in with a meter stick and beat the sh1t out of the kid... now you're not allowed to even use harsh language.. THAT is what is wrong with these children today, they need a good hard lickin to knock some sense into them, they fear nothing.
