Guy in another dept. at work terminated for sexual harassment.

Found out tonight that a guy in another department at the grocery store I work at part time was terminated for sexual harassment. He was suspended but they decided to fire him.

This dude was Italian (actually from Italy) and was asking all the girls out for drinks and wanting them to sleep with them. One of the girls is even married to one of the managers at the store and he tried asking her for drinks which infuriated him. Would have fought him if he didn't work there.

This guy was about 30, about 5 foot 2 and obese and sloppy looking. The women in that dept are not even hot looking as well. Are Italians like this in Italy? Pretty straight forward with women? Last year our meat manager who's a guy in his early 60s, and obese slob was taking pics of coworkers arses with his phone. They only transferred him. Apparently the ladies got a lawyer and a settlement too for him looking at their asses. yet he didn't get fired due to being a manager.

Kind of find that shocking though. A fat slob like this openly hitting on women flat out wanting to bang them and open about it. Do they actually think that this will get them laid?

All the ethnic Italian men that i worked with over in Asia were very flirtatious and aggressive with female staff. Latin men are more this way too.

The only thing that he really did wrong to make the women complain is not look good enough.

I think in Italy it would be considered normal. The guy wants to get laid. Why should he have to pretend he doesn't?

I agree. But the way this guy acts, he's forceful always. Like if you're standing in the way he'd basically push you out of the way and didn't have a sense of humor.

The old manager I mentioned, while being an old guy, somewhat slob he did at least have a personality when talking to women. Like joking with female customers and making them laugh. The young guy I mentioned wasn't like that.

If you're going to ask a coworker out if you must then make sure they're on friendly terms. My gut he was just going up to the badgering them. But why hit on a woman knowing she's married and a manager there?

Firstly, that isn't something I would "say" to someone because it's none of my business. I'm not their manager nor in HR.

Just my opinion.

And FYI, HR is concerned with protecting the company from lawsuits. Just so happens that guys are usually the ones doing most of the dumb sh!t in these places that expose the company to these lawsuits. That's reality.

However, plenty of women have gotten fired for the same reasons.

People who honestly think that HR only fire men are not based in reality.
