Opinions welcome. I'm 36 and my hair has been slowly greying for ages (I think the first ones appeared at 18). My hair is still mostly very dark brown but there's a fair bit of grey on the sides.

It's starting to bother me. My face looks young but the grey hair makes me look old. I just worry that dyeing it will look unnatural and weird.

Have any of you guys done this? Results? Is it better to just embrace the grey? Girls have never said anything bad about it. Most of them claim to like it but I don't know if that's just BS or not.

I'm 33 and I've got a few grays. The girl I'm currenly seeing is 20. She actually likes them...I'd leave them alone.

Yeah thanks GS. I'm thinking the same thing. I've got a lot more than a few (kind of salt and pepper) but I'm worried that if I dye it it's going to look weird and damage my hair. plus it will mean redoing it every month.

Awesome work on the 20 year girlfriend by the way.

I considered using just for men or something like that, but I really dont think girls care about a few grays. As long as you've got a full head of hair its all good. I'm sure there are other opinions on this but I think dyeing it is a little "metro". And thanks.

I'm 46 and I have some gray, every girl I date says she likes the salt and pepper. My ex says the girls in their 20's like it as well. My brother dye's his and it looks silly.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Yeah, I have a good head of hair. I'd rather face going grey than losing hair (although some guys can really pull that look off well).

I think I'm going to leave it alone for now at least. It's like 90% black and 10% grey anyway. I just hate the fact that all the grey is on the sides but I guess I'll just keep it short.

Girls love the salt and pepper, but mine is all gray now. It's different shades of gray though, so it looks kind of cool. Women are not like men, they're not necessarily drawn to signs of youth. They really don't seem to mind the gray hair. In fact, I've even had gay men comment how turned on they get by gray hair.

The problem with dying it is that unless it's a professional looking job, it can look fake and unnatural on men. Most women, young or old, dye or highlight their hair all the time anyway, so it looks natural on them even if doesn't look real. Look at all the women who wear all those different shades of red - 90% of them dye it.

A lot of women will also make fun of men who dye their hair - especially if it doesn't look good. This is because dying your hair and fussing over your hair is seen as a feminine trait, not a masculine trait. For a real man, such a thing is supposed to be beneath his notice. He should be out conquering the world, not worrying about what his hair looks like.

For what it's worth, I've asked a lot of women if they think I should dye my hair. Every single one of them has told me I should not. Of course, they say you shouldn't listen to women's advice, so who knows? They don't seem to care about the gray hair, they really don't. But then again, when a woman describes her dream man, I've never heard one say "I want a man with gray hair". It's a tricky subject.

Interesting. There seems to be unanimity here!

I don't like the grey hair on myself, maybe because it makes me feel old (even though I've had some since 18). I'd rather it wasn't grey but as long as it's not going to hurt my chances with the ladies, I think I'm pretty happy to live with it.

Thanks all!

I've read a number of these threads over the years, and it is a subject that I have some interest in. There have been a number of guys who have said that they got better results in their game when they dyed their hair. So there are definitely two very distinctly different opinions on this. It may be that it depends on the individual and how they look with dyed hair.

I'm with you, Yo'Mama, I would love to have my old dark brown hair back. But since I don't, it may be that it is better for it to be gray than to dye it and have it look unnatural.

There's also a school of thought that says that if a man dyes his hair then he is being insecure with the way he looks, and being uncomfortable in his own skin - uncomfortable with the idea of aging. As a guy who has been able to attract much younger women, I do think that owning your maturity and being completely comfortable with it is an asset.

Thanks Zekko. That sounds right to me. I've never had a girl say she didn't like it (quite the opposite), although it's possible they were just being nice in the same way that if a girl asked me if she needed to lose weight i would probably tell her no of course not.

It's more that I just don't like it myself. I don't like the grey but maybe I wouldn't like dyed hair either. I don't think it would feel right.

Having said all that I might try it once just to see how it looks. Then go into hiding for 6 weeks if it looks awful.

I have silver as well (it's SILVER, not gray people! haha)

This woman that cuts my hair says men come in and pay good money to get it to look like what we have. I'm keeping it real.

I guess one thing is though, grey hair in your 40's or 50's does look good I think. I'm not sure if it's the same in your late 20's or 30's because then it's premature grey hair. But I'll probably just wait out the four years rather than dye it, lol.

Dude, I definitely had a healthy helping of salt and pepper when I was in my 30s, so it's not just you. Yeah, I was a little premature. I agree I'd rather it was dark brown again but it is what it is and it's a case of lesser of two evils: Leave it gray or dye it? I always say if I was in show business I would probably dye it, because then people would expect me to be fake lol.

Anyway, at least we're not bald. Count your blessings and all that.

I went to Kung Fu last night, one of the guys in the class is 54, good looking guy in great shape with a lot of money, and I haven't seen him in a while. He was seeing someone last time I saw him, he had a fresh dye job and really white teeth, he looked silly, I didn't have to ask if he is still seeing his girl, my prediction is he isn't going to do as well with women looking like a clown.

I know a man who is 71 with a full head of hair. But he dyes it black, It was the first thing I noticed when I met him. It looks unnatural and pretty silly. Leave the grays alone haha.

I dye my hair. The thing is you gotta keep it really conditioned to look natural... and you have to pick a lighter shade than ur natural hair... I use just for men and I am medium brown but I use the lightest brown color their is... I put leave in conditioner in like a mofo to keep it looking natural!!! even if I have a hat on I use it. It always seems to me like my hair feels like straw after I color it.
And yea, every girl I was with told me I looked great with gray hair etc. etc.
And after we broke up they told me I looked like a retard because my face is so young looking and I have gray up the sides. ..
And when I go out to bars now, as opposed to when I was gray, I keep company with younger girls... The gray always brought out the 30 something single mommys with wrinkles to be drawn to me for some reason.... Now I get the college seniors hitting on me instead...
If anybody gives you **** about it,tell em to go **** themselves... That's what I do!!!
