I took some good info from the replys here, which is all good for the future. I went to watch the video just to update. I could have still been waiting to see if i was gonna get taken to court a month later, but i don't have to stress about that now.

It was below zero and icy on the roads over here 2 days ago, i was driving down a road that hadn't been salt gritted. I was doing about 45 in a 60.
Coming up to a sharp corner, i see headlights and slow down more. Car comes around the corner and spins out and lands in a ditch.

It was a cop car lol!

I stopped and got out my car, the 2 coppers had gotten out (1 man, 1 woman). The guy who was driving approached me, i asked if he was ok.
He said "Do you wanna get back in you car and carry on".

You can't even offer your help without them dismissing you.
Not even a "we're fine, thanks for asking." He even said as i returned to my car "Watch it round the corner, cause you've seen what happens."

I was really tempted to take a picture on my phone, but thought better of it.
For all their thinking they're better drivers than us mere plebs cause they have advanced driving training crap. Fact is the dude went round the corner too fast, and his tyres gave way. I've only been driving 6 months but know better than to go round corners on a icy road carrying more speed than i should.

I bet he felt a right mug. I'd still stop and offer my help, though next time if they tell me to get on my way without saying thanks for asking, i'll let them know.

The first mistake you made was talking to him in the first place.

Invoke your rights, do not speak to police officers as you have nothing to gain and everything to lose. it's not them you can or need to convince that you're innocent.

Or you could go the karmic route and admit you've driven without a seatbelt in the past, go to your 2 hour course, enjoy it, and get on with your life.

Going to court is wasting your most precious currency; time.

Well I've honestly never driven without it. Not once. I guess if I got ticketed wrongly I could go and pay my Karmic debt for the times I rode my motorcycle without a helmet.

I have 'gone to court' over traffic citations I thought were undeserved for the principle of the thing, but I follow the rule that anything worth doing, do well. I found a lawyer and did the full on force a legal process method. In the end I did not have to go to court and the ticket went away, but my lawyers fees cost a lot more than the ticket would have. It was completely worth it to me. If a person is gonna try to 'beat a ticket' and they go at it half-assed it's probably going to be an unsatisfying experience.

The OP seems barely competent as a driver at the present time; he's been driving 6 months and apparently has already totaled one car, and he sounds pretty confident in his 'driving ability' despite this.

My crash was because i hadn't had sleep in about 2 days. I was tired, and upon approaching my turning i take every day, must have had a microsleep without even knowing it. Next thing im cutting hedges with my car, which slowed me down enough before i hit the tree. I was very fortunate in many ways. If the tree was stronger it could have been worse than it was. The tree fell after i flung back on the road.

I was too relaxed in my car, heating was on, hell it was like being in bed nice and cosy. I gained experience from my crash. So im more compentent than i was. My crash wasn't about my driving, more about choices which affect it. So i always make sure i have enough sleep before i get in the car.

A split second when i had this sleep, felt a bump as i went up the curb and it cost me 2 months time to get myself back to where i was.

Generally this will continue to be true until it's overcome by physical decrepitude.
