Got fired, for making an apparent honest mistake, do I have a case?

I don't think your financial career is necessarily ruined. But 2 things you cannot trust anyone with is money and women. Even your best friend will backstab you over money and women.

You have horrible friends if they're backstabbing you over 10s of dollars, and there must've been warning signs way before this.

Ya there were. I hear it from my dad and my ex every chance they get. He was a loser that had to go to rehab for a drug overdose 2 years ago. Not to mention he's a pothead now, doesn't do hard drugs anymore but smokes weed every chance he gets, and when I was working for a telecom company making almost 50k in college, I referred him to my district manager for an open position, he actually got hired. I told him to not get high for the next month during the interview process because he will get drug tested. He got high a day before his drug test and lost the job offer. I tried referring someone else to my DM after that, he said "they have to apply online"

Trust me, I learned my lesson big time. I have a small social circle now.

If you can't trust you best friends and girlfriend with any amount of money then you should really question if they are your friends or not.

I once let a buddy barrow $1k after knowing him for about 12 hours,it was a friend of a friend,while we were on vacation. Payed me back promptly. Just put yourself around good level (employed) headed people and you have nothing to worry about.

True but horrible friends are a dime a dozen and good ones are rarer. That was my point that most people can't be trusted with money and women.
