So Im starting my own Youtube channel, and so far even though I got a few decent views in some videos, It wasn’t for the content that I wanted.

My channel deals with holistic life approaches, things with God and spirituality and wholesome positivity.

The videos that got the most views were a helicopter in my neighborhood, a Japanese steakhouse and some weird bright lights in the parking lot at Denny’s I recorded….wow man, talk about vanity. Im talking about things that really matter and this is what most came to see?

Anyways, got any advice for growing a Youtube channel? Especially with my content?

There are youtube channels that help you with stuff. For example https://www.youtube.com/@Marcus-Jones
there are many others. I'm missing a link here to editing techniques.

Main thing is stay focused. If your channel is about sneakers, don't be posting videos about mars, instead make a different channel about mars.
Also keep consistent, upload regularly.

Oooo, and as after thought. Don't take advice from anyone of length of videos. Here is an example for you that length don't matter. https://www.youtube.com/@tuzemsovet
His videos are 4 hours and more long, and view count is several million.

Just make good content.

I myself have videos 3 hours long, and they are pretty popular in the subject matter that I make.

P.S. If you doing shorts, there is a technique to have chat gpt regerate thousands of videos for you, then you upload them and get a lot of views.

Make a video about the recent drone/UFO sitings, or important and trending things that are going on. (ie the wierd bright lights in the parking lot at Dennys attracted ALLOT of views because that's a crazy-trending issue right now, that explains those views there). A helicopter in your neighbourhood, was it by itself, or where there wierd bright lights involved there too?

Having a good title and thumbnail of hte video is very important in as much as it explains my own behaviour on what I click on to watch. What influences my decision, probably influences allot of people. There are allot of options of videos, but the ones I click on depend on my mood, and if something really grabs my eye. If the first few minutes are really good, then I might get hooked to watch the rest of the video, even if I'm busy at the moment.

Anyway...I want to recommend this channel if you want to do youtube videos:

She sounds like she knows what she is doing. She seems to be doing the same thing with her channel that you are planning to do with yours.

I don't have a set-up or appetite where I am in my life to be a content creator myself but I'm hooked on youtube. Of all the streaming service that I have, youtube is used disproprtionately. Youtube has more personalized videos:
1) There is 360 degree/ 180 degree VR videos that I can look at a VR headset and can travel and visit places and explore the world.
2) There are ASMR videos if I'm feeling very lonely and want a connection with a woman.
3) If I'm in the mood for some cool music videos, again, youtube has all of that.
4) If I'm in an awkward social situation, or want to talk to someone, I might play a vlog channel (ie like Ruri) on my Tablet right in a cafeteria or social setting so it feels like I'm talking to someone.
5) Youtube is laso replacing porn consumption, especially at work or a social situation in public, as there are allot of lewd videos (ie girls with bikinis), sexy topics, and, youtube tends to fly under the radar compared to an actual porn or escort site. People usually don't get into trouble over a youtube video in public, even if it's a lewd video.
6) If I'm using the washroom, I also play youtube videos while taking a shower on a waterproof smartphone/headphone set.
7) When driving, a youtube podcast might be played. (religious usually)
8) Worship music from the 90s Hillsong is played allot of times, also archival old videos are saved on playlists.

Any streaming service can not offer that level of personalization. I mean, with movies and TV-shows, you might end up watching something, if you are in the mood for it and it hits you. (ie sometimes watching a favorite TV-show, movie, or a nice new movie that came out that you missed in the theater/digital/and early release before streaming, might pop up and be a treat to see it's available at anytime on the service, etc...). However, it can never match the same level of virtual intimacy that I feel, only youtube can offer.

If youtube were to cease to exist, it would feel like a break-up with me on some level. I remember once in 2020, my page got a problem with a rule violation, and I felt really hard about it because it meant I lost access to some of my playlists I spent allot of time to put together. I've also uploaded Super 8 films as a kid on there as well that I could view at anytime.
