I absolutely love reading biographies. There's just something satisfying about reading a person's (or people's) struggles through life to get where they want to be. I've read a few, but there are two that are definately worth mentioning....

Motley Crue - The Dirt
Although these guys are AFCs (especially Tommy Lee) This is one fantastic read! The amount of drugs and women these guys did was absolutely crazy (well, maybe not the women ;) )

Marc Bolan
He was the lead singer of the band T. Rex. Although I'm not aware of a book written about him, there is a fantastic biography here. The guy was a true Don Juan all the way, never losing sight of what he wanted throughout all the problems he encountered on the way up to the top.

Anyone have some other good suggestions for biographies to read?

Warren Buffett - the Making of an American Capitalist

I'll admit, most guys, especially the younger ones here won't find this read any bit fascinating, but there is a tremendous wealth of knowledge to learn from this guy. I read it three years ago and it's still my favorite biography.

Two really good ones that inspire:

The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass

Wiseguy, which is the book that Goodfellas was based on, is a great read.

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass

I was going to suggest that, but I doubt that most guys here would have respect for it.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.
