What do you guys think of tanning. I mean, most girls like tan guys..so being tan would be a plus. I always said and thought tanning for guys is girly. Nonetheless, i do believe it may increase the appearance of myself or a male even though i am not pale at all.

What is your opinions on this? And if you do it, would you keep it secret or just not care?

I'm saying this b/c my GF told me about some guyfriend of hers who went tanning and didn't want anyone else to know. I commented on it and she said it wasnt a big deal if a guy were to go and even could look nice.

Don't be ashamed of things you do. If you activly work to get a tan then don't hide it. Plain and simple. It's the most normal thing in the world... didn't you know?! That's your mindset...

I go to the solarium regulairly to keep my tan nice and even. I never hid it in any way. If someone calls me to go some place i just say well i'm going to the solarium first. I've never had any weird reactions to that in the sense of 'that's for girls' or whatever. I had one guy look funny at my once when i mentioned it and he's a total AFC tard... so yeah... i care, loads ;-)

Getting a tan is nothing to be ashamed of. Tanned skin looks nice, pale/white skin looks bad. Simple math isn't it? It can also help you if you have bad skin, i.e acne.

Whatever you decide to do, you have to stand for it! And it's kinda hard keeping it a secret if you suddently become tanned and it's raining or snowing like hell outside right? :)
I do think it looks kinda stupid when guys get TOO tanned. Like the just got home from the beach in the middle of the winter. That's too much imo, but having that glow really improves your looks and the girls like it. Pale skin is not sexy to most women.

Don't make exuses for what you do in life. You are a man. You are not ashamed of anything you do! What other people think doesn't matter!

What do you want? Just like any other form of self-improvement, you need to be doing it for yourself, first and foremost. If you go and get a tan and feel the need to hide that fact then it appears that you are trying to please others before yourself and aren't comfortable with your own actions. This= turnoff for women. If however, you are totally comfortable and confident about doing it then that will show. People (aka women) will react positively. I wouldn't do it myself because I like to minimize that whole risk of cancer thing and it seems overly narcissistic to me, but to each his own.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

Have fun hiding from the sun your whole life covered in sun block then ^^

Safest way to tan is a solarium. Try to stick to the programs that match your skin type. The sun is a dangerous tanner because it's not as 'constant' as a solarium is. On dry hot days a lot of really abusive rays pass the ozone layer and fry into your skin. This is harmful because it causes molecular damage to your cells (which could result in self termination, IE cancer, if it gets to bad).

Always allow your skin to repair. Don't hit the solarium daily, do intense routines and then wait a week or two before doing another. The point is that your skin heals from the damage you inflict up on it through UV rays. As long as you are doing that you are perfectly fine and won't get any freaky diseases. Only sun freaks get skin problems. People who roam beaches like addicts and capture every single ray they can get. They never allow the skin to heal and hence it gets destroyed up to a point where it self destructs.

Also, refrain from getting burned. Sun burn is very bad so avoid it. It's better to tan slowly and constantly. Always use a cosmetic afterwards. Something with vitamin B that helps your skin repair faster. Sun burn can be very subtile. Just cause you don't look like a lobster doesn't mean you're not burned. If your feeling itchy or sensitive it's also sunburn so spend less time under the solarium.

The 'dangers' of tanning are highly overrated anyways. Especially of artificial tanning, which is actually SAFER than sun tanning because it's more reliable. Overdoing anything is harmful, same with tanning. Smoke 30 cigarettes a day and you will get lung cancer sooner or later... smoke 1 every 3 days and there is no way in hell you get lung cancer (at least not from the cigarettes).

everywhere,nowhere
it depends on the shape you are in.
i usually tan right before summer hits while getting
really cut up.

i've done self-tanners also-
one made me look like a carrot and the other made
me look Nigerian.
i didn't feel any better about myself and i looked like s*it,
i am sure there are better self-tanners out there now...

Use solariums regularly and don't be surprised when you get skin cancer. It's as simple as that. You just have to ask yourself, which is worse: light skin or cancer later in life? Don't let anyone fool you into thinking solariums are safe and risk-free and that the dangers are "overrated". They're like this generation's version of the people who'd used to tell you to get a "healthy tan"......that's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

I guess loads of people who live in dry desert areas with little to no shade must die from skin cancer then...

Just look at all the african bushmen... they die from skincancer by the numbers right?

I stand by what i said. Fry on beaches 24/7 you're much more likely to get skin cancer than by visiting a quality solarium from time to time...

so i suppose you have real empirical data to back up your claims?

i love people who just come in and spout crap like that when it really isnt clear.

is it good for you? probably not.

is it as bad as you make it sound? i doubt it.

we should know the risks, and live our lives the way we want to live. there are always tradeoffs. the milk you have with your cereal might be much more dangerous as a carcinogen (sp?) than tanning. you never know.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.
