Going speed dating tomorrow

So my university is holding a speed dating event tomorrow. I'm not really expecting anything other than to have a bit of fun. I doubt that that any of the girls there will be attractive but I could be surprised.

Even though I'm not expecting anything to happen, I don't want to blow any possibilities.

What are some fun questions I can ask to break up the monotony?

What can I do right when I meet a girl to make a good impression?

BTW the event is free and there is going to be free food

Just don't ask the standard questions. Have a fun conversation, be a little daring.
You won't be pulling anybody at the event, but rather at the party/cometogether afterwards

Heh, I know to avoid the standard questions. Like, where are you from, what do you do, what kind of music do you like, and all that yawn inducing conversation topics.

What can I say to have a fun daring conversation?

Some questions I'm thinking of are; what is your favorite thing about men, why are you single or why did your last relationship end, what do you do for fun, what do you want to do when you graduate, do you kiss on first dates?

I tried to get questions that are out of the ordinary but I know they aren't the best.

I'm afraid of having periods of awkward silence. Guess I might be trying too hard to be prepared.

I went to a speed date thing through school once. It was basically just free wine and girls. And me and my friend just spewed out complete bull**** the whole night.

Well, it was an interesting event.

There were about 40 guys and girls each. Every 3 minutes the guys would move on to the next girl. It was no where near enough time to make a connection. Right when the conversation started going it was time to move on. Also the organizers did not provide name tags. That was a huge mistake as you had to re-ask the person's name at the end. Light snacks were provided but they might as well not be because the guys could only sit down for 3 minutes and there was no time to eat.

Overall the quality of women was average to low, going strictly by looks. This did not surprise me. There were two to thee girls that were 7's. It's without a doubt that the vast majority of guys put yes on their card for them. I think I put yes for 5 or 6 girls.

One annoyance was that some of the girls tried to take the lead in the conversation. And they'd always ask the same questions, "what's your major, what year are you." I quickly learned to combine answers and the those questions out of the way and get to more interesting stuff. A surprising number of girls said they were there to give moral support for their friends. I wonder how true that answer really is.

I do not expect anybody that I put yes for to put yes for me. If that does happen I will be pleasantly surprised. Overall it was something to get my out of my shell. It was fun talking to so many girls at once.

If anybody is considering doing speed dating, go in with the thought that it's just about having fun and ilt's good practice for sociallizing.
