I've always wanted to fight in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) and perhaps US Navy or Army after that. While I'm not going to let a girlfriend direct what I want to do in life, I'm a bit concerned if I can even have the relationship after I leave.

I like my girl alot and she is crazy about me (as a side note I also took her virginity which may make her more connect to me since I'm her first). But after seeing stuff in the media, movies such as Jarhead, and even hearing stories from friends a few years older than me who come back from the Marines to notice they are no longer in a relationship.

While I'm sure you never hear about the relationships that work and no cheating occurs, I'm still a bit disturbed by this "percieved" truth. Anyone here have experience in this area or have a friend who went off to serve and had a working relationship?

sorry man, but if you took her Vcard then she will leave you. Unless she is religious (doubtful since you are sexually active) or a one in a million deal, you are doomed. Unfortunately all women are similar, and they all start to "wonder" if your sex is good, or if there is better sex out there.

Im not bitter about it, but it does seem to hold true for the most part.

I seem to see alot of "sorry dude, she will cheat", "she will leave". Do understand I can get other ass, it's just she's a good girl. I'm just curious what the chances are of her staying faithful if we were to stay together. She doesn't seem like a cheater, I believe she'd leave before she'd cheat, but looks can always been deceiving.
