Hi guys. My name is Joey and I want to share my story.

You see, back in High School I had class with this girl. And she said Hello to me, and we started talking in class, and one day she asked for my Screen Name, so I though I was in there. Then we started talking all day and night on the computer, and she told me how caring and understanding I am. She said I was the only one who understood her completely. But I noticed we started talking less and less in person.

I thought this was strange, but I enjoyed it throughly for I felt as if she was getting to be the only person who understood me, as a person too. Although, I did most of the getting to know. Well, to make the story short I fell in love with the girl, but the only problem is she has a boyfriend. He was on the football team, and no not the Quaterback, he was a lineman. I guess she liked big guys, but lucky for me Im big. 6'2 290 pounds. Okay, so its not all muscle, but its whats on the inside that counts, right? She told me thats what mattered most, and if she wasn't dating Mister. O-Linemen she'd be interested in me.

Well come Homecoming, Mr. O-linemen was out of the picture. Something about his brake cables being cut. *Smiles* So I was planning on asking the girl to homecoming since she doesn't have a date yet. So I finally got the courage up to ask her out, and it was on the internet, and she said "How sweet" and that if she didnt find another date come homecoming that she'd go with me! Well, now I felt like a King, I had a date to homecoming and everything. But fate struck the day of homecoming, for she didn't manage to get a date, but she called me and told me she came down with the Flu all of a sudden and couldn't make it. I told her that it was okay, and I understood. I offered to go to her house and watch her favorite movie "Hope Floats" with her instead, but she told me that I should go to homecoming anyway, and that she didnt want me to suffer from her sickness.. I tried to resist but she was pretty serious about it, and she makes me melt so I agreed.

She told me that I'd have no problem finding a girl who went Stag too at Homecoming, and I believed her, because who wouldn't want a caring sensitive guy like me, right? Well I got there, by myself, and everyone was laughing for some reason. I didn't really get it. At homecoming, I didnt find a date, but I did enjoy myself atleast. Although now that I look back at it, I didn't really try to find another girl, I only wanted her. I figured I'd soon tell her how I really felt, and sweep her off her feet, and we'd live happily ever after! So when I got home from Homecoming I started making my plans.

I had the perfect plan, I would suprise her on Valentines day!

But until then, things remained the same. We kept talking on the internet, and she kept telling me about the different boys who'd talk to her, and which ones she'd like, and how she thinks Britney Spears is the next Madonna and what style she has. And the strangest thing, when we had new classes in the next semester, she had one with me, but didn't even sit anywhere close to me. I asked her about it later on the internet and she told me that she didn't see me. Hard to believe, but I believed her.

As Valentines day approached, I started picking up our personal contact some more, the occasional "Hi" in the hallway, maybe even a short conversation if I caught her at her locker. Which I tried to make a habit of doing. Every day at 7 AM, number 345.

5 Days before Valentines day, I left a note in her locker. Telling her about how beautiful I think she is, and what a wonderful person she is, and I signed it "Secret Admirer". That very afternoon she got online and IMed me within 5 seconds. Very strange because the time to IM me had increased to 15 minutes atleast. That is, if I didnt IM her first, which I usually did.

She told me about the note, and how awesome it was and she kept saying all these names off.. "I bet its Andrew, I saw him look at me today for a few seconds!" HAH! She had no idea it was really me.

Well, so I confessed. And she didnt reply for 20 minutes. Then it finally came, I knew she was going to say she loves me. "I'm sorry Joey. I love you as a brother, and youre my best friend. But not like that. I think its best if we dont talk so much anymore."

What can I say, I was devestated. I cried like a little girl for an hour infront of the computer. I didn't even muster a reply to that. I just signed off.

The next day, she didn't even look at me, or IM me at all when I was on AOL. I loved that girl with all my heart and she did that to me. She didn't even say Sorry.

Im sorry, I cant finish it. Im crying to much now..

-Joey

PS - I was kidding about the Lineman. They broke up. I might be a *****fied wimp whos also a doormat, but I have a sense of humor.

A bit on the pathetic side, sorry to say, but I'm sure it's guys like you who make girls become all afraid to be straightforward with their rejections. See, I think that there are a lot of girls who are very good with rejection to begin with, then what happens is that especially the hotter ones, get asked out so much that they have to reject a million guys. After rejection, some guys can get all emotional about it, and the girl feels bad. Girls always feel bad about making someone else feel bad. That's how they seem to operate. They exchange feelings with each other and with the person they're talking with, and these feelings determine how they act.

Anyways, my advice to you is to move on and learn from this one. The damage was done here when you gave her too much too soon with all this "you're beautiful" talk. If you had not done that, I would have definitely beat her to the punch and LJBF'd HER instead if I determined that she wasn't feeling it for me. Live and learn.

Dude. I didn't cry infront of her, and act emotionally shocked. We simply quit talking afterwards and I hear she didnt have much trouble rejecting others.

As for the "Youre beautiful" I never complimented her looks until the Valentines card, and it looks like I was pretty hardcore LJBFed. She didnt even know it was me until I told her, either.

If you want to help a person, atleast understand what you read.

Sorry, I have to admit I didn't totally read through your post that meticulously. However, despite this, my advice would still be the same. You were LJBF'd, and the girl is clearly not interested in you, so you need to move on before one-itis sets in and you find yourself beating a dead horse by chasing after a girl who doesn't like you.

Dude, it might seem bad now but trust me this is going to be one of the greatest opportunities of your life if you turn around and look at things objectively. Just try to take a step back from your current situation, and begin to think like a man.

I was thinking the same ****!!! LOL Anyways if this post is serious. I could have told you that you were the mayor of the "friend's zone" once you started talking to her for "hours on AOL." If that wasn't a good indicator for you, then how about when she talked about other guys infront of you like Andrew.

Anyways, if this was a joke, that was a damn good prank. If your serious then realize that girl's are not attracted to guy's who smuther them and wear their heart's on their sleeves.

WHOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Out of every single post that I have ever seen in my entire life, or ANY OTHER PERSON I HAVE EVER MET.....I have never seen anyone do as many things WRONG with a female in my entire 20 years of being on this planet!

I swear.......you made some of the worst students I've ever had look like Gurus in the world of Women and Dating.....

I WOULD email you my book.....but that won't even help you at the level that YOU'RE at. (and my book is written for bare-bones beginners, but you're faaarrr below "bare-bones beginner".)

*takes deep breath*....let's go through what you did wrong...

The first thing that you did wrong was that you failed to lead in the very beginning. YOU should have been the one to ask for HER information (email, phone number, etc.). YOU are the man, so YOU need to be the one who leads. Remember that.

And then you talk to her ALL DAY AND NIGHT on AIM!!? And you had only known her for less than a day!? Even middle-aged, overweight WOMEN will tell you that you were coming on WAY too strong, my man. Have you ever heard of CHALLENGE !? Women use it on US all the time. You gave away too much of yourself to her way too early on. You did not give her enough time to THINK about you.......you didn't give her enough time to REFLECT on your pressence with her. If you're ALWAYS there for her to speak with.....SHE WILL TAKE YOU FOR GRANTED. Think about it......How the hell can she WANT you when she already "has" you!? She knew she had you wrapped around her little finger when you talked to her for so many hours. That's why she said "you're so understanding" because she knew she had power over you. When a girl tells you that in the beginning it's because she looks at you as a conquest. And so it's only natural that she will avoid you more in person because she talked to you so much online. Think about it.....what if you're being fed Pizza every 15 minutes for the next 5 days.....sooner or later you'll get full.....and eventually get sick and throw up.

But that's not what killed it and put a stake in it......

She was seriously starting to get sick of you because you were always there.....ALL the time. The fact that YOU were doing most (or almost all) of the work should have told you that she was losing interest....but you kept right on with your wishful thinking. It's not like she wanted to get to know more about YOU. If her interest in you was high enough, then she would have definitely wanted to get to know you more......BUT how can you be interesting when you're ALWAYS there....ALL the time? Think about it....

And then you messed up bigtime by CONTINUING TO PURSUE HER EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD A BOYFRIEND. What did you expect? For her to break up with her bf and then end up going out with you? Even if that would have happened.....what would have stopped her from breaking up with YOU for some other guy who "understood her"? Think about it....if she can do it once....she sure as hell can do it again. You should have said "NEXT" and find a girl who was NOT INVOLVED WITH SOMEBODY ALREADY.

Then she just flat out told you a bald-faced LIE and said, "if I wasn't dating my boyfriend....I'd be interested in you."

Attraction isn't a choice. You can't TURN YOUR ATTRACTION on and off like that. You can't CHOOSE who you're interested in. You can't CHOOSE when you start being interested in somebody. But you CAN choose what you do about it. If there was a possibility of her being interested in you.....she would have been interested in you ALREADY. Does it really make sense for her to say...."If me and my boyfriend break up.....I'm going to TURN MY ATTRACTION FEELINGS ON for you. Oh yeah....and if my TWIN BROTHER were to die in a carwreck tommorow....I could just TURN MY HAPPY EMOTIONS ON so I won't be affected by it. Gimme a break...

Read what you posted here.......

So I finally got the courage up to ask her out, and it was on the internet, and she said "How sweet" and that if she didnt find another date come homecoming that she'd go with me!

Don't you realize that in that sentence....she told you that YOU WERE THE LAST GUY THAT SHE WOULD GO TO HOMECOMING WITH? Look at it again....

"'How sweet' and that if she didnt find another date come homecoming that she'd go with me.

C'MON THE FVCK ON, MAN!! Basically...she was saying, "I'm going to look for other guys, but if I just can't find ANYBODY, I guess I'll THINK ABOUT taking you...."

And you're HAPPY about this!!? Don't be a FOOL! You should have taken that as a PERSONAL INSULT but you were waaaay to *****-whipped to even see such a thing coming.

And then the day of homecoming.......she gets the FLU!? You have got to be kidding me! That's the oldest trick in the book! AND SHE KNEW IT! AND SHE USED IT BECAUSE SHE KNEW THAT YOU WOULD FOOLISHLY FALL FOR IT! If she was REALLY sick she would have been starting to come down with the illness at least the day BEFORE homecoming, and would have called you beforehand.

This girl...AT THE LAST MINUTE, MISSED homecoming because she KNEW that YOU'D be there. This proves that not only does she dislike you as a potential love interest....she doesn't even like you as a human being and has -100000 respect for you OR your feelings. Basically, if your ass died tommorow she wouldn't even care or notice...and I mean that literally.

And you SHOULD NOT HAVE OFFERED TO GO TO HER HOUSE. What were you thinking!? She uses the oldest **** in the book and lies to you and you offer to watch MOVIES with her!? Ugh!

And when she told you NOT to go to her house, that pretty much shut the book on it. The fact that she "didn't want you to catch her illness" was utter bull****! She knows you can't catch the flu from being in the same room with somebody that has it.

And if she was at school the next day you need to stamp your head with a big "GULLIBLE" sign. The Flu takes at least 4 days for even a DOG's immune system to defeat!

And then you decided to "tell her how you felt"? C'mon man! I think she could write a whole damn BOOK on how you felt about her! She KNEW you wanted her, and you're telling her would only make you look to her like an obsessed STALKER! Dude....(and I never use that word), use your BRAIN! Normally, guys do these sort of things because it FEELS good....but I'd feel like a STALKER if I were to do that in your situation.

And something else.....Valentines Day isn't really a surprise, man. I bet she was making plans to AVOID you on Valentines Day because she KNEW you were going to try and pull something else.

And she knew that YOU were the secret admirer. If she did not then she is the biggest idiot in the world. She was only TELLING you that she didn't know because she just wante to get away from you, think about it. And plus she IM's YOU for once......c'mon now.....she KNEW it was you.

And your approaching her locker at the SAME TIME everyday became predictable....nausiating, and BORING to her.

Then finally.....

"I'm sorry Joey. I love you as a brother, and youre my best friend. But not like that. I think its best if we dont talk so much anymore."

******** TO ENGLISH TRANSLATION: "I'm sorry Joey. I'm in no way attracted to you romantically or sexually. You're always around and I get sick of you. Stay the hell away from me because you are worthless."

THE END

This girl led you on and treated you like shyt.....and for what? She enjoyed feeling power over you and feeling as if she was superior to somebody else. She took advantage of your lack of knowledge about girls and the female sex. There is no way in hell that you should ever consider going any further, or even being FRIENDS with a monster like her . Learn from these mistakes and DON'T make them again with the next girl.

I have to say Craig, good post, I couldn't have said it better myself. Personally though, I say that one of the best defenses to a girl who is playing games with you is using LJBF against her before she pulls out that card on you. Then, after you're friends, pull away a little so that you're friends, but not as great of friends as she might want. If she doesn't care, then oh well, that's life, and move on. If she does, then she was interested in you but was just playing games with you. Either way, you can sort of find out.

I'm actually going to do this with a girl (HB10) on Monday. See my thread "My next experiment" below for more details.

A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
Assuming this ISN'T a joke, I think it'd be a good example to some of the people who come here and really NEED help, which would be YOU if you're straight-up with this.

It's nice to have a convenient excuse like that so she can avoid hurting your feelings. What's on the inside DOES count, but evidently whatever he has, outside or inside, you don't. You've got it backwards...it's not "If I wasn't dating him I'd be interested in you," it's "If I was interested in you, I wouldn't be dating him." So many guys think that they can just get rid of the current boyfriend and by virtue of being "next in line" they're entitled to the poonani. The only thing you're entitled to in life is death.

The lost-and-found just called...they just had a set of balls come in and they think they might be yours.

Bad news, your highness. When a girl says, "If I can't find anyone else to go with, I'll go with you," she means, "I'm pretty sure I'll find someone I WANT to go with, so I have another excuse to hurt your feelings."

Just read her response a few times..."If I can't find anyone else to go with..." don't you get an inkling at ALL of what she's saying? And are you surprised she "came down with the flu?" She came down with "no one else asked me but I need an easy out."

And then you offer to sacrifice YOUR prom night to go comfort her? To sit there on the couch and watch chick-flicks and cry with her over not having a prom date? I'm sure she's swooning at this point.

I asked her about it later on the internet and she told me that she didn't see me. Hard to believe, but I believed her.
You are her Internet girlfriend. Girls do not sit and talk to guys they are interested in about their other boyfriends and about Britney Spears and Madonna. And by sitting there talking to her about this gossipy crap, you are just re-affirming that you are NOT man enough for her.

LOL...if you were a chick and got a note like that, wouldn't YOU want to run to your girlfriends and tell them all about it??

Well, so I confessed. And she didnt reply for 20 minutes. Then it finally came, I knew she was going to say she loves me. "I'm sorry Joey. I love you as a brother, and youre my best friend. But not like that. I think its best if we dont talk so much anymore."

PS - I was kidding about the Lineman. They broke up. I might be a *****fied wimp whos also a doormat, but I have a sense of humor.
And the worst thing is, the title of this post is "Girls are so mean"...dude, she's not mean. She tried SO HARD to tell you in a nice way that she wasn't interested...you were just too DIRT-STUPID to acknowledge that. You thought the fact that she blew you off gently meant that she still had feelings for you.

Eventually she realized that you were too stupid to take the myriad hints she was dropping and decided that she'd rather sacrifice the friendship than "lead you on" any more. But then you blame it on HER. SHE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN YOU AS A MAN. SHE NEVER WAS. She was not leading you on...YOU WERE LEADING YOURSELF ON.

Why was she so mean? Because you wouldn't take the hint when she was nice. You think a woman should be attracted to you just by virtue of the fact that you're next-in-line to be attracted to her. It doesn't work that way.

this post has to be a joke!!!!
if not, then may god have mercy on your soul!
i mean, i used to be a major AFC, but not that bad!

joey, if all this is true then i suggest a few things:

1. delete this girl from your contact list
2. delete aol/msn/iqc or whatever is your using, this will help you in the long run
3. forget about this girl, if you keep thinking about her it will drive you insane
4. accept the fact that your never gonna score with this girl
5. i suggest you take some time away from girls and dating, your in no state to approach females right now, give it a few months
6. in the meantime, READ THE DJ BIBLE from beginning to end!!!!

Hi all.

I'm atlantis, writing from troubled Israel. Maybe I should have nicked myself IsraDJ...

I'm glad to be here.

My friend. I've just read your post. You're a good man, a good sweet man. You have what the doctors call DENIAL-ITIS, I'm afraid. "Denail is not just a river in Egypt".... take my word on this.

Three questions for you:

Do you understand what you did wrong?

Do you understand that she never wanted you anyway?

Do you understand that while you were sitting in your room, listening to soft music, thinking about her, about the two of you together, about her amile, about your own right hand, etc, at the same tie she was thinking about everything but these?

If you answer "yes" to all these questions, I'd say that your DENIAL-ITIS isn't total-loss, you can recover. I'd say it'll take you a year minimum to do that, if you would take it seriously (learn learn learn).

Otherwise, I wish you all the best.

Atlantis.

Well jeez Craig, maybe that would help me if I didn't want to kill myself after reading it.

She might not have liked me as much as I thought, but I don't see the need to distance myself from her, and quite frankly I don't think Ill be able to for awhile.

But for however heartless she is, I don't think she'd be that freakin' mean :(

You make me cry.

Truth is I was just as AFC as you were a year ago. My girlfriend was two years older (Yea, I controlled her little brother who was my age so I guess I came off as Alpha, or something). Anyways, I'd talk to her for hours and hours and hours on the phone, and even go to sleep talking to her (yes, it was that bad). I'd talk to her online, but then when we met up, we'd basically never talk, and I was her ***** (although I was still feeling her up even though we never kissed, lmao). So, eventually a year ago around december I was dumped because of the AFC I was, and, yes, I did cry just like you.

Sad thing is before this girl, I was dating this HB8.5 my age, but she was prude as hell (met her at church, she wouldnt do bullocks), so I dumped her ass. I was DJ and suave as hell with her cause I was in control, but then the tables turned with this girl cause she was 2 years older, and I felt LUCKY (not confident, LUCKY) to have her. That was the problem.

However, I took it as a learning experience. I looked back and saw what I did wrong, and there were so many little things. It took me a while to recover but its made me so much more DJ then I could of ever been without it. Everything in life is an experience, use it to your advantage. Pick up your balls and drop them on some HB9, show her the man you really are.

Why is she heartless? Because she does not love you! Dude, grow up and take rejection like a man. Profit from it. There are blunders all over in your story.

Besides, not every girl is going to like/love you no matter how great DJ you are.
