I recently started dating this chick who I KNOW is 19. (A quick internet search pulls up the old birth announcement in the local newspaper archives)
She tells me she is 20 and how she is looking forward to her 21st birthday next year, even though I know she just turned 19 a few months ago. My question is why would she do this?
I mean when I was a couple years younger I had to deal with 17 year old girls telling me they were 18 all the time, but that at least makes sense. 18 is a legal adult so I get why they would do it.
I could even understand her lying if I was significantly older than her (late 20s/30s), but I'm not. I'm 22 and she knows this. 19 and 22 isn't uncommon so I just don't get what she thinks she has to gain by telling me she is 20.
