While I don't think fat girls actually think that way, especially about me - I do appreciate the point that you're making. The basic thought pattern behind my friend's 'strategy' is selfish and not very nice.

I will say that this girl is the first to admit that she is overweight. She jokes about it. I find it endearing but a little bit sad that she does this.

My problem is that I am not able to motivate myself to make a move unless the girl is a total HB9+. This sucks because the HB9's are usually so full of themselves and much more difficult to get with. I was just briefly considering 'lowering my standards' - I know it sounds like I am an azzhole - but now I probably won't.
