I drive a Chevy cobalt sedan, which is paid off. I never upgraded to anything else, even though I have like 20k saved up. I would rather see my savings grow for the future, and my car has only 65k miles, good on gas, cheap insurance like $345 every 6 months, never had any problem with it. I got new tires for it, 15 inches

Last week, I went on a date with some girl I met from school, and when we were walking towards the parking lot, she said

Is that your car?

With a tone, basically saying, that car sucks, you should be driving something better, I couldn't help but feel embarrassment, on top of that, I had forgotten to wash the car, so it didn't look its best

After the date, and everything, even though it went ok, deep down, I wanted to have a better looking car, even though I know it would be a very bad decision to finance one/waste my savings.

Have you ever experienced that feeling? driving a car that you are ashamed of being seen in? I remember when I was unemployed, I would look at pictures of cars, or researching the cost, basically dreaming, someday, I even come to kind of hate my own car, I also had good experiences with it, but I hate the fact that is so plain looking

Well, I hung out with a couple of girls that diminished my car the first time they saw it, and they made sure to make a comment about it.

It would be cool to have a bigger car etc but I'm not spending money on that any time soon so if they do not find my car cool enough they can go to hell.

Anyway, if they like you and are interested they wont say anything bad about your car and they will like you still, unless you drive some really really old crap of course lol.

a girl who cares more about what a guy's car does for her image than the guy himself is not a girl worth knowing. how would you treat her if she looked down on your family? you can always buy a new car but you can't buy a new family. unfortunately.

Americans put serious undue materialistc attention towards cars, some sort of big car culture like a bunch of fvcking morons. In Europe no one gives a f*** unless you're driving around in a Ferrari or something.

Just ignore it and brush it off.

The thing about women and "cars" is that they don't know anything about them besides them looking pretty and that other people place value in them so they think it's valuable themselves. I remember I had an argument with a girl about how Ferrari's aren't the best cars in the world and are typically over priced... The next time a woman tells you that your car basically sucks just ask her this... "How does a clutch pedal work?" or "What does an exhaust manifold do?" or "What's does the 'V' in a cars engine name stand for?" or some other car related question. If she cannot answer the simplest engineering in a car then she has no right to even question what it looks like on the outside. In fact, people who are RICER's will talk sh*t about the way your car looks.

By the way, you can buy some really good cars with $20k. Any used car from 2009(or earlier) or even 2010 you can pretty much buy. But if you don't absolutely need one now then I would agree that you don't need to get another one. If you want some tuner or muscle cars for under $20k I would look at some '09/'10 or earlier Mitsubishi Lancer's (evo or not), Chevy Camaro's, Nissan Fairlady 350z's, certain BMW's and Audi's(even though it costs a lot to maintain!), and even Toyota's T-86 or I think it's called the Scion FR-S. They're pretty new(came out in 2012 I believe) and around the $23k area but they're actually pretty good(25+MPG as well)..!

But yeah if a woman gives you sh*t about your car just ask her what flux capacitor is and if she can't answer that, even though it's not even real, just keep walking. The point is just make her look even more stupid by her not knowing sh*t about cars and for criticizing you.

Always take good care of the stuff you already have.

Vacuum it,Wax it, polish it, make the tires have that wet look, put a good air freshener in it. Treat it like a classic car collector would.

Make her see u take care of your Sh!t no matter what. You own your Stuff!! Be a True DJ.

1. You will feel better driving a clean car.
2. people don't tend to diss a clean car that often. They'll usually say that it looks very clean or ask how you always keep it so clean.

Haha. I drive a 500hp Caddy as well as a POS jeep in the winter. Brush it off.

I am a car guy so a nice ride is on my priority list. It's cool that chicks dig it as well as anyone who sees it but that's whatever. If I were you id sell the cobalt and get some money for it while you still can. 65k is good. Buy something that's used with higher miles and nice and add the rest of your dough to your bank account. Go pick up a used cts or sts for 7k and b done with it. Whatever you do - do not blow it all on a brand new car.

Also - take care of your toys and tell that chick to fvck off.

in the uk chicks don't know much about cars thankfully

as long it looks and drives ok we don't have much trouble in the way of

"is that your car"

here its more like " omg is he really wearing that" "omg look at his haircut" or " look how skinny he is"

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Shame on you OP!
you failed at the bigger picture, YOURSELF

you didn't stand up for yourself, you failed this "**** test" or whatever you want to call it.

The minute she made that comment, in NO unclear terms, you should have stopped, looked at her in the eyes, and ask exactly what she meant by that.

"yes that's my car, and if you are the type of girl who can't get past the car a guy drives, you can turn around and leave ASAP."

She would have then realized what a materialistic B1tch she is and apologizedd (attraction for you increases)
or she would have walked away...

WIN/ WIN

and MEAN IT ... damn it!

I would love an opportunity like this to demonstrate to a girl, that I can walk away any second.
BUT whats your reaction???????????

OMG, shame on me!! omg booo booo she thought less of me,, poor baby me with my ugly ass car, omg i upset the pricess and now she doesnt like me, i must get a better car (cries).......

ughhhh DUDE grow up!!!
MAN UP!
dont change your car, change your attitude son....or drop the girl. Girls dont give a **** what you drive when you have a powerful masculine attitude....

I got very old car with well in excess of 115,000 miles. I'd never take a girl in that car, I'd rather hire a newer model then anything else.

OP, read this over and over until you memorize it!

Seriously, she is a shallow bytch. Why the f**k do you wanna get closer to her? She don't like the package, stand up to her and assert yourself!

My attitude is: I'm all me, you can either come along for the ride or your ass is left! Shape your ass up or ship your ass out! That's what women do when you don't cave into their demands.

With your insecurity, a Lamborgini might not even help. I drive a 05 Grand Am. Don't like it? I walk away.

Case closed. Man the f**k up.

I agree with this 100%.

When i was in college i banged chicks in my moms yellow Fiat Panda and those were some goodlooking bi.tches. I could have taken my fathers Volkswagen but i was proving a point to me and to my friends. Its not about the car its about you. You are the star. You should have stopped when she said that and told her that you dont want to go on a date with someone who is clearly shallow and materialistic. She would apologize immediately. If not, who gives a fu.ck. Next!

Go no contact with her.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

a word we never talk about on this forum is consumerism. you don't have to be rich per say to mack the ladies but you do have to be a consumer of goods, "toys". women dont' give a **** about your frguality lol they like the guy in polo's and spurrys over the guy in Faded glory lol. they like the guy with the nice colonge, they like the guy who has the new iphone5 and who spends all his time updating his facebook page. women are really, big kids. they like toys. a woman will literally drive a man to the poor house if you allow them to.

Thats why i hate the advice given on this forum alot because it doesnt tackle real problems. how od you be a consumer of goods and still be responsible at the same time. if you have a job and your take home pay is 900 every 2 weeks, not horrible but not just balling out of control, at least where i am from it's not, how do you keep up with the jones.. how are you going to "save 10%" when a polo outfit costs 200 dollars? women don't' give a damn about you saving money and being responsible. they just don't. not he women this forum wants.

I've driven a 93' Oldsmobile Cutless, a 90' Cadillac Deville, a 92' Honda Accord, a 95 Honda accord, a 92 Toyota Tercel, a late 90's model Geo Tracker and 91 Nissan Sentra. Oh and a 95 Mazda Protege

I have also driven a 98 Lexus SC400, a 94 Lexus ES300, a 2003 H2, a 2005 Vanquish, a 2003 Mercedes CLK Convertible (wife's car), a 2008 Mercedes S550 and my current car a 2012 Jaguar XKL

I can tell you

1. the quality of women skyrocketed in the second group. I was more of a catch then but still

2. it's night and day.

A guy who has never had a nice car telling a guy who has a nice car that nice cars dont' matter is like a below avg looking guy telling a good looking guy that looks don't matter. lol how the hell would you know

I'm not gonna BS, man, chicks look at car and assess your value. It happens. I have an '05 quasi-sports car and got flack for it, but at the same time I'm not gonna go into mad debt getting something I can't pay for. So do yourself a favor, and forget about what this dumb girl said, and keep an eye on the car you want in the future. A REALISTIC car, that is, and work and save up to acquire it. Do it for you, not for anyone else, though. I'm working on a new Dodge Challenger, and will pull the trigger when I'm ready. Until then, I drive the 2005 quasi-sports car that I paid in full, I don't give a phuck!

Always drive what you can afford.

We know that men value love and women love value. But I do my own upkeep on my car. Had it for 9 years now. Though I drove my uncle's brand new S class Benz and got so much attention from it! More than my dad's 06 Chrysler 300 and his fianceé's 04 Camry (I do the maintenance on these cars too, and I tricked them out a little bit BTW) put together!

Backbreaker speaks from actually having a high end car. That equals value in a woman's eye. But there are rich folk who drive Honda accords with mansions!

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.
