I drive a Chevy cobalt sedan, which is paid off. I never upgraded to anything else, even though I have like 20k saved up. I would rather see my savings grow for the future, and my car has only 65k miles, good on gas, cheap insurance like $345 every 6 months, never had any problem with it. I got new tires for it, 15 inches
Last week, I went on a date with some girl I met from school, and when we were walking towards the parking lot, she said
Is that your car?
With a tone, basically saying, that car sucks, you should be driving something better, I couldn't help but feel embarrassment, on top of that, I had forgotten to wash the car, so it didn't look its best
After the date, and everything, even though it went ok, deep down, I wanted to have a better looking car, even though I know it would be a very bad decision to finance one/waste my savings.
Have you ever experienced that feeling? driving a car that you are ashamed of being seen in? I remember when I was unemployed, I would look at pictures of cars, or researching the cost, basically dreaming, someday, I even come to kind of hate my own car, I also had good experiences with it, but I hate the fact that is so plain looking
