So a friend of a friend got dumped by her boyfriend on sunday. They went out for about a month and a half. So I'm thinking "now she's single, and pretty cute, I should go after her."

How long should I wait to let her get over her ex before I move in and ask her out?

EDIT: I was thinking of asking her out for Valentines day... too early?

Im sure other guys that know her are thinking the exactly samething. Some of them arent going to waste time, some of them are going to wait without putting themselves in a position where she even thinks of them....this is where you come in. Dont give her all the attention that others guys that wanna get in her pants are going to give her because youll be lumped in the same group with them. Totally. There is this dude who goes to UT San Antonio (we go to University of Texas in Austin... about 2 hours away) who totally has his **** in his hand over her. He's rushing over here this weekend to comfort her and generally be a bleeding vagina. I talked to her while passing between classes and she asked me to hang out with them during the weekend, to which I declined because, well, lets face it, that's pretty ****ing lame.

So, yeah, I of course want to avoid the initial rush of people trying to get in her pants... it's just, should I try to make the valentines day thing work, or just self the idea and put my **** in my pocket? Love Day is a tuesday this year, remember.
