Girl flaked on me for prom.

So this girl I was going to prom with texted me saying she going to prom with me woundnt really work out because her mom and her sister want her to go with her moms best friends son. (hope you followed that). So i decided to call her up and the convo went something like this.

Her: hey whats up?
Me: nothing, so whats the deal?
Her: what?
Me: with prom, whats the deal?
Her: oh my moms best friends son blah blah blah (you know the deal)
Me: Oh so mommy tells you who you can and cant go out with now?
Her: No, well its just my sister and my mom really want me to go with him because its her best friend, and my sister already baught the limo and told him he could come.
Me: Oh, well i think its bull**** that you say your going to go with me then out of nowhere your going with your moms best friends son.
Her: No, please dont be all mad and hate me.
Me: Im not angry at all, but i dont put up with this **** and now i got to see a side of your personality i dont really like.
Her: no please i still really want to hang out with you and get to know you more.
Me: Ok but you owe me one.
Her: Ok I owe you one we will hang out soon.
Me: maybe just dont let this sort of thing happen again.

Then she gave me her cell# because i only had her home phone, and she said lets get together sometime.

so what do you guys think about all this. What conclusions can you find from her actions and that convo, and do you think i handled it well.

Personally i think i asked her too soon because we really dont know eachother at all ive only talked to her a few times at parties, so maybe she thinks she doesnt know me well enough yet. Tell me what you guys think?

I hate seeming like a board troll, but this is a textbook case of extremely low interest level. Let's reverse the scenario, if you even had some sort of interest in this girl would you cancel on her for prom to go with someone else after you've already promised that you would go to prom with her.

I don't think you would (i may be wrong), but even out of courtesy you would probably still go to prom with her. I would act normal like you said but don't even think about trying to progress with this girl.

I say low interest as well. This was a sh1t move on her part. No need to get mad. Just erase her from your life and move on.

You kinda let her own you here dude. Basically, she gets to "owe you one" by hanging out with you. Think about that for a while.

Next this chick. Don't try to pull the "you owe me one" bit. That works for small things like casual dates, etc. It doesn't work for things where you've expended money (on a tux or whatever), or things that are considered "big" (like prom is in high school).

Just next her. That's all. Don't be whiny about it. Go to prom with another chick (that should be easy to do). Have fun. Don't bother with this one anymore. She's not interested, and you shouldn't be either.
