Girl Asks for Facebook Before Date

Got this cutie's number last week at this concert/lounge thing. It was at the end of the night but we had a lot of common, both creatives. My buddy actually approached her (I was looking the other way at the time) but it was clear she was attracted to me. She was there with her friends (all dudes), introduced me, gave me some of their champagne at their table and at the end I got the digits. Interaction lasted about 15 minutes.

Anyway, I call her today (2 texts in between) trying to arrange something for tomorrow. I tell her there's a great new place I'd like to check out (in her neighborhood) and if she would like to come with. She says she may be able to but is swamped tmrw but will let me know. I said cool, just shoot me a text. Things ended with her asking for my facebook. This hasn't really happened to me before. I don't plan on confirming her until we actually go out.

What do y'all think might be going on with the facebook request?

To answer my own question: Lack of comfort. I actually just got off the phone with this other girl I met this weekend (5 min interaction, got the number). I arranged something and then was about to hang up. Then she goes "you don't have to hang up yet... I barely know you." So we ended up chatting for 20 min, I left her with a few things hanging and got a date for Thurs. Cool smart girl, too.

So I'm going to try to get more comfort with the first girl if she flakes out for tmrw which is certainly quite possible.

It's so they can snoop in on your life. I always say "no, I don't use Facebook, sorry, but let's exchange numbers instead"...and use it as an entry way to get the digits. If she says no then see ya. Enough with the Facebook crap already.

I think you are overestimating the interest number 1 has in you. the FB thing is a new concept, it allows them to spy on you and then make a further judgement on you, and they will judge! its pretty much all to the girls advantage. tell her you dont use it or if you de restrict it to family.

Good call. Girl#1 is a real Hollywood type. Not that I haven't pulled some 8+s but they usually have been of the "nice girl" variety who don't really know they're that hot or in college where they were nerdy, too.

and most of the times women ask for it, so they figure it out if you are cool enough for them, so they could impress their girlfriends with you, because of this I don`t use fb, I have deleted it and I say to every woman that I don`t have one because it`s lame and I don`t got the time, it makes you more misterious, she can fantasies wtf she ever wants, while I`m going to meet her again, why would I come up with bs stories to DHV her, if she`s doing that crap by herself inside her head for me

If the girl was your sister and said she was going on a date with a random guy she met at a concert, would you still be so against wanting to see the new guy's facebook page? I would want as much information as possible. A normal-looking facebook page can show that you're a socially well-adjusted person with friends and a normal life. Or it can show that you are the opposite. She just wants to know that you're single and also not a serial-killing rapist. That's not unreasonable from a girl you just met.

You do have a point, and I admit it is valid. However, people did go out on dates and reproduce before FB.
