what's up guys, I just recently joined. Iv been looking for advice and I stumbled onto this forum....

So the thing is my gf of 6 1/2 years joined the navy, we have been dating since the end of high school and it's been pretty good until now. She joined the navy about a year ago, and ever since then she has been getting more and more distant. She texts less and she seems to be a lot more demanding.... all of this is really catching me by surprise cause she used to be amazing and caring and also very into me. Is it the navy changing her? Should I take premptive action and end things before I get cucked? I don't wanna end things because I do feel like I love her(I'm only 25 so idk if I actually know if this is love) and she says she loves me so I'm pretty confused as to how to proceed with this relationship...

tl:dr gf is in military she's changing and I don't like it should I dump her or keep trying?

When you cant physically connect with a woman you'll find them getting more distant the longer it goes...maybe things will return to normal once she returns maybe they won't.

If she is good looking(and in a lot of cases even if she isn't) I am fairly certain plenty of navy dudes are trying to get at her and it would naive to think that none have succeeded.

You should at the minimum be dating other women

I'm not sure if the military contains mostly alphas, seems like most guys who join are just people who have failed at the beginning of their lives... I mostly look at the military as a welfare thing. We pay for people to travel and sit on their asses in bases around the world. The ones who do fight fight for bull**** reasons...idk I just don't see the military having the most alphas. I may be wrong

Right behind you
1 to 2 girls per 100 guys or smth like that. All the guys are in shape, aggressive, clean cut.

They get attention more than they could on ocular media. Leave her.

Instant access to ALL the male attention she could ever want.

Hundreds of fit guys. Most fairly attractive themselves.

She's probably fit and attractive herself.

Do the math.

Which army ?

The Navy is the worst for women.

Alot of horny guys with no education (the military is a welfare system in the USA like you said) or thought love.

She's a woman, joined a confined area. The military does to women, what the police and firefighter do to women.... They want to break her in any way possible. The fact she's "female" goes against the need of "male power in the wolf pack"

If she's getting distant and the fact she joined the army in the first place.

1) she felt something was south in her LTR or dating life (lack of adventure?)

2) if she's getting distant... either she's getting alot of sexual attention (she's attracted) to another person

3) she's hiding something for sure (maybe an abuse.... All women in the army are abused one way or another) ...

When a woman goes on a trip without her man... its cause shes looking for something new.

If she's getting distant either she ain't interested or trying to hide something

I bet she's a strong head women (alot of attitude and willpower).. These women will tend to cover up the bad stuff... being distant is one of sign

To be less extreme than the guys here... you should talk to her, find out what happening.
If you feel she's running away or hiding ... let her know you won't accept that behaviour

Yea I tried to talk to her this morning and we just got into another fight and now she's headed to the mall with her new "friends".... honestly I don't think it's worth all this anxiety. I'm gonna end it tonight.

Thanks guys for all the advice! Also thanks von for breaking it down like that, I'm glad someone sees the military as a welfare system. Usually I'm alone in thinking that.

7:1 male to female ratio it's a situation similar to the strip club.

its not like it will change anything if you dont break up. so dont look back. you either break with her or she breaks with you.

I think he needs to spin plates while she's away, get the good bye bang when she's back on dry land and then next her, with plates lined up and fully established.

I'm from the UK but the US Army does seem to be good for benefits. But I think it comes down to posting. If you're volunteering to go to contested Yemen or war-torn Afghanistan or back in the day you were getting shipped out to 'Nam you're probably going to be the sort of person who has balls (or ladyballs) of steel and you'll probably see combat or hairy situations.

On the other hand the Navy is comparatively sedate. Unless North Korea kicks off.

(And I'm not even convinced they're that competent, with the recent spate of warships crashing blindly into civilian shipping, lol).

It may be she's still faithful and loves you genuinely, but if she's getting distant that's probably a sign she's either cheating or thinking of it. Long Distance is basically something I'd never consider because you get all the BS of a relationship with none of the good stuff.

I was in the Army for a short while over here and can confirm that women are significantly easier in the military. Whether they have a boyfriend or not, the chances of them cheating is ridiculously high. Even if you don't have any game- that doesn't even matter. I would say it's even easier than college.

You also have to remember that the majority of people that enlist are right out of high school. So they're dumb and h*rny.

I would just downgrade her instantly to anything that's not girlfriend status. But don't tell her that, just do what she's doing and become distant.

Dump her in ur mind. Dismiss her from ur heart and thoughts.

Just don't inform her of ur decision, let it be ur secret.

Remain calm and detached.

Go out socialising. Meet new girls. Hv fun.

And it will come to you that ur girlfriend is a complete waste of time.

Downgrade her from girlfriend to plate, keep her untill you find an other girlfriend.

No need to create drama or fight with her, keep a low profile and do your own stuff.

Don't be afraid of banging other women, she is probably doing the same and if she is not, you will never know anyway but the fact that in case, you cheated too will leave you more relaxed and in peace.
