Getting # While Being ****blocked?

So I was out with some wings on Saturday and we opened a 2-set and things seemed to be going great. I was talking to one of the girls and the other girl was occupied with one of the wings.

My girl was showing interest and it seemed all but guaranteed that I would get the number (or more) that night but right when things seemed to be going great, the less attractive friend (who was sitting next to us the whole time) said that they have to go.

Now, in hindsight I think it was a rookie mistake that I didn't just say "Hey, before you go, give me your number" (as I'm VERY new to cold approach) but is there a good way to deal with a girl who is obviously into you -but- she is being pulled away from your set?

Even if it was a guy with her and he was dragging her away you still should have got her number. That happens a lot.

If she liked you, she wanted you to have her contact info. There would be a pause, a goodbye, a chance. Maybe you missed it, but do you really think they both walked out and the girl you liked said "I really liked that guy, why did you make me leave?" They both know what's going on.

She did say a quick "goodbye" but this was just a rookie mistake that I intend to stamp out of my reality from this point on

My last number close I did when her friend went to go get a drink.

If you can discreetly get the number while the friend is away, that is preferred. This is especially helpful when your girl likes you but her friend doesn't. Your girl might feel self-conscious giving her number out in front of her friend.

The next best thing is just get the number during the interaction, even if the friend is around.

Obviously your last opportunity is when she is leaving. You had nothing to lose by trying for a number as she's leaving.
