Honestly, I think we are freaking out about nothing. For me, the trouble was never getting them. It was keeping. But for all you guys who freak out about approaches, just go for it, there's really nothing, NOTHING, that you can lose.

Girls are more than willing to give a chance to guys who have the balls to go for it. No pussing out. I just had a brief convo (online albeit) with some random chick I don't know. Just snagged her email with possible promise of her sending me pics. I don't care if it follows through or not because that's the exact attitude you are supposed to have. Women are everywhere, why should you care about some random broad you've never met. It's not important. She can't do anything to you, so just do your own thing and succeed or don't. JUst make sure you have fun trying.

Sure, being online might have would probably have lessened the blow of a potential rejection, but that confidence and light-heartedness translated into real life is all a guy really needs. Here's the convo I had just ten minutes ago (ironically enough, I went into the conversation with no intent of getting an email):

This is what I'm talking about: Broken confidence. What I did up there in the OP, it was online. She's never seen me or talked to me before, but we got along quite well. It all depends on how you carry yourself.

Respectfully, talking to a girl online whether it's an IM, internet dating, Facebook, or whatever is not in the same universe as approaching IRL either in a bar, on the street, or at your supermarket.

I agree the end result can be the same, but the guys on here who are naturally shy can overcome their fear of in-person approaches by just doing it over and over again. Chatting on-line won't do sh!t for curing real-world approach anxiety.

Man, you just described the exact opposite of most of the users here. For example, I don't have the 'balls' to do anything. I don't think it would be as straightforward for me. When such things happen, well, the process becomes a little different.
