I'm 18 now and a big Trans Am fan, and I've been thinking about getting the Phoenix tattooed on my left upper arm. What are your opinions on tattoos? Also how do you think girls will react to my tattoo? I think it could make a nice icebreaker or convo starter? Also does anyone know what it feels like to get a tattoo? Like what kind of pain it is?

You'll definitely regret it when you're older.

Think of you as a 50 year old man, with a wrinkly, faded pheonix on your shoulder, in a time where nobody will know what it means.

damn this comment always comes up at the first sound of tattoo. im tired of, think of something more original. seriously who the hell is going to care about wrinkly tatoos when someone is like 70 (cause at 50 it wont be that bad)?

as long as youre sure you want it, wont regret it later, and look at the big picture, meaning its going to stay there forever, then get it.

Why is it necessary to think up a "more original" reason? Logic doesn't have to be original in order to be correct.

Who would care? I would. You'd look like a fool walking around with a symbol on your arm that nobody recognizes, that looks more like a red splotch due to age.

I'm not saying getting a tattoo is a completely bad idea- just make sure it's something cool and timeless that you won't wanna get removed fifty years down the road.

Thanks for the input.
Also I posted recently about this new girl at work who's showed interest in me. I was thinking of asking her if she wanted to tag along when I get my tattoo. I'll either ask her or some other girl to come with me. Would this be a good idea?

Well,

hahahaha if you've never gotten a tattoo before, you might not want to bring a girl along...just in case you're one of those that can't stand the pain. Everyone is different, but I've seen the biggest brutes wimper like little babies when they were getting something done lol.

welcome to my world
I've been thinking about getting a tatoo for a while. Of course, I'm going to get something original/meaningful if I do, which is why I'm still thinking about it. I hate how lots of people are so nonchalant about it...like "oh, i wanna get a blah blah" It's not an erasable stamp damnit, you only have one body...some people are just stupid.

The way I see it, in 50 years it will be cheap and easy to remove tattoos. I very much doubt medical science will stop advancing for a half century.

Get the phoenix. They look cool. Women love tattoos. The girls that don't love tattoos are bad at sex. Trust me.

That's an interesting point, and something I thought about when my best mate got a tattoo this summer. But I came to the conclusion that I don't hate any of the moles or birthmarks or blemishes on my body, and over time, a tattoo wouldn't be any different. Unless it said TOUCH ME FAGS or something.

Getting a tattoo of a car you like is just about as good of an idea as getting a tattoo that says like "spring break 2005". If you get a trans am tattoo, you'll be a complete moron.

I'm not one to give an opinion on this but let me ask, why not? Maybe this car thingie is something he loves and has a passion for all his life?

Camaros and Firebirds have always been my favorite cars. I have 2 Trans Ams. And I know I'll always have a Trans Am. Also I made an appointment to get it done this Friday. Also cars are really my only interest besides girls.

if you get a tattoo be more orginal, ive seen a ton of trans am firehawk tattoos. just put more thaught into WHAT your gonna get. like i was watching miami ink and this guy got a crest(u no the shild thingys that tell a story) with alot of meaning tieing into his family and a friend that passed away and such. then there was a guy who got a plain old demon head n i was liek wtf put more orginality in to somthing like that man. personaly im a lot liek you w/ cars n girls n when im odl enough i would like to get a engine on my shoulder. but what ever you choose make sure its orginal ans somthing somone else will be like "o yea i have that to"

I've always thought a tattoo should be a personal decision. If that means alot to him and will do for the rest of his life, then he should get it. What other people think really shouldnt come in to the equation, what he should be more concerned about is if wether or not he will like the tattoo when his 70. :)

To the original poster.

Yeah just think long and hard about it, my older brother has a tattoo on his arm of a band he no longer likes. He's only 24 and allready is regretting it. Just make sure you will like it forever.

Tattoos are toxic. It's generally a bad idea to put carcinogens UNDER your skin. You can always get them removed later on, but the scars will always be there and they aint pretty.

Besides, tattoos are a telltale sign of someone strugglin with their individuality...they are usuall people who have no deep character traits to distinguish them from everyone else so they try to be "different"

Save your money for something more meaningful and constructive.

Yes, that's why you can't donate blood for a year after you get a tattoo.

The carcinogen and any other possible toxic goes away in about a year. This is assuming you don't smoke, which anyway you'll be putting more carcinogen in you.

For nonsmokers, they have nothing to worry about. After that year, they can again donate blood and all of the toxic should be gone by then.

How is it a telltale sign?

The difference between the people with tattoo and the people without tattoo is the people with tattoo don't care if you have a tattoo or not.

Save your money for something more meaningful and constructive.

What would be more meaningful and constructive if he wanted to get a tattoo dedicated to his late family member? Or what if it was his passion or something he has loved all his life?

If he regrets it, that was his choice, he'll regret it and learn to deal with it.

I know many people who has their tattoo for many years, some whom are 60+ and they love their tattoo.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.
