George was just doing a job that his neighbors agreed needed to be done. He got out of his car because the dispatcher asked for the address and George didn't know exactly. The punk jumped him and got exactly what he had coming.

Even if your shot was "righteous", as Zimmerman;s was, you'll spend a minimum of 50k and maybe 1/2 million or more, staying out of prison and "un-sued". Nothing says you have LET some punk hit you in the head with a rock, and pounding your head on the pavement is the same exact thing. So if you get shot for behaving like that, you HAD IT COMING, and good riddance if you die of it.

I think concealed carry is terrifying. The last thing I want is to be surrounded by morons with loaded guns. And I'm not directing that at anyone here, but just think about how fvcking stupid people are.....and they get dumber all the time. If I see a crime being committed, I'm going to run away, not because I'm scared of the criminal, but I am scared of taking a bullet in the back of the head from some lunatic trying to be a hero.
There is truth to this regarding stupid people. But I think overall we are safer with CCW and people carrying, and here is why: First off, It is true, you might have the one off 'moron' carrying who is not mentally fit to be carrying. I won't deny that could and does happen. But those are going to be low numbers in comparison to those carrying who are perfectly sane and fine. In addition, the one off moron would likely fire his weapon in a situation where someone pi$$ed him off and it would be a targeted shoot on one person, the person who made him mad. Bad as that is, and it's very bad, but it's not as bad as the terrorist who comes in to open fire on the crowd, randomly, killing dozens. Or as bad as the ghetto bank robber high on crack who could shoot any number of random people, take hostages, who knows... And with the terrorist and bank robber, all it takes is one good guy with a gun to stop it and potentially save any number of lives.

the good guy better be HIGHLY skilled or he's likely to make things worse by just wounding/angering the bad guy. The ability to (in 1.0 second flat,)ccw draw and brain somebody at say, 10 ft of distance, is not present in more than a few dozen men in the entire US. I know cause I used to compete at World championships. A man can fire 6 shots per second and mere chest hits often fail to stop a man, Going to a knee and firing upward is often needed, so as to not endanger the innocent. Until you can demonstrate that you can do this, with at least a day's pay riding on it (to provide some stress) you aint ready for much of anything. Not 1 cop in 100 can pass muster, and not one civilian in 1000.

Examples?
Clinton's assault weapons ban, George H. W. Bush's 1989 import ban, the 1986 machine gun ban signed into law by none other than the original RINO, Ronald Reagan. The feds could simply ban manufacture, import and ownership of handguns, except for law enforcement or military purposes, and make your state-issued concealed carry license worthless overnight.

How is any of that going to affect the 200,000,000 weapons already in the hands of American citizens or the ability to carry them open or concealed? The US government cannot an will not ban ownership of handguns which would be a clear breech of the Second Amendment. If thst were possible, met would already be done.

90% of gunowners would just turn all of them in if a federal law passed. 90% of the remainder would turn them all in but ONE (and bury that). there's over 300 million guns, not 200 million. There's about 70 million gun owners. that ONE %, tho, is 700,000 guys, who will probably kill people over your trying to take their gun rights. and not kill just one each, either.
