My ex girlfriend is a cometologist and the second she came over to my house she threw out all of my "guy products.' I had the cheapest stuff you could buy at the time and it drove her crazy. She brought me some good stuff (TiGi) and I was completely amazed on how different it is. You honestly look better with good products in your hair... it really makes a difference. So throw away that LA LOOKS crap in your bathroom and get something new.

Some good hair product (depending on your hair type)

CREW
TiGi
Alterna (Hemp Seed Mud)

You'll pay a lot more (TiGi Manipulator is $15 for a 4 oz jar) but it's worth it!

What do you mean by 'product', exactly? Shampoo, conditioner, gel, mousse?

I usually just wash my hair and comb it, I don't like using stuff like gel because it leaves my hair feeling like plastic, and after a while it gets all chunky and disgusting.

Don't use gel. It's crap. Use whats called "Pomade" or "Manipulator". It does the same thing as gel... except your hair looks like there is nothing in it and girls can still run their fingers through your hair and not get cut by your razor sharp spikes! I use all Tigi (Toni and Guy) products. I use an Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner and Manipulator. If you're really bold try the "Catfight" pomade. Its good stuff but all of it is expensive and should only be used in situations where you may get a good return on your investment... or if u just have a lot of $$ to spend.

I recommend "FRUCTIS" hair products by Loreal. It's got a great fragrance, and it comes in all types of products. Shampoo, conditioner, gel, pomade, finishing spray, etc. They sell it in drug stores, it come in a light green color. AWESOME product.:)

How bout something frangrance free, relatively inexpensive and doesn't have residue?

That's what I want. My friend works at a drugstore, but even after his discount the stuff's still expensive.

I've never tried that physique stuff yet, is it any good?

for GOOD hair products, DONT GO TO DRUGSTORES... even the expensive stuff isnt that good

go to a salon, i really recommend ICE hair products (their a part of Joico)... If you spike your hair, get ICE SPIKER, that stuff rules...

If you want a messy, but dry look, i really recommend American Crew fiber... that stuff is great, holds real well, and no shine for a natural look

I dont use gel cause it feels sticky and greasy and just unatural, plus it makes your hair look thinner (at least my hair). does the american crew stuff still do this? what makes it different?

Are you lookin for a wet look, or dry look??

You gotta know what kind of look you want first...

If you want wet, get WATER WAX (i forget who its by)...

If you want spiked, get Ice Spiker

If you want messy but withs hine, get som Pomade

If you want messy but dry, go for the American Crew fibre, its totally different for gel. But if you want the same look as gel but not greasy, then dont use this, it wont give you any shine.

I think the Water Wax is by Redken from a search I just did.

Seems kinda expensive, but i'll probably get some. It doesn't look greasy does it?

My hair's not really short, its down to the top of my eyesbrows.
I'm Chinese and lately I've liked my hair when I just come out of the shower, the hair is wet and somewhat messy and full. I guess this thing'll probably work.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

The problem with Asian hair is that it is very rigid and straight. A lot of my Asian friends suffer from the "toilet brush hair" syndrome. :D The only thing that will keep it in place is some heavy duty gel!

Luckily for me, I have very fine, slightly wavy hair. I don't know why since I'm not caucasian, but it means I don't have to always put gel in my hair for control of my locks. A little pomade does the trick every time. Besides, I hear that heavy gel use causes gradual hair loss. Is that true?

Yeah im asian too, and i have the classic case of asian hair as well...

I haven't used Redken Water wax before, but i hear its not greasy and washes out easily in water.

I find Ice Spiker is the BEST thing. once it starts drying a bit, its liek you have GLUE in your hair, it holds soooo well...

Like i said before baout the American Crew fibre, i use it too, works great as well.

MY HAIR ****ING SUCKS.

It is extremely resistant to styling.
Has a natural wave in it.
Gel, Wax nothing can hold it.
It curls if too long, but doesn't look good too short.

The only thing I found that can effectively hold it was Sebastian Xtah modelling clay, it was £20!

It last ages though, was a rock solid hold and was DRY, I don't like gel as it's wet and wax looks greasy.

The place that sells it in Hull has recently closed down though

Does anyone know good hair products that give concrete hold and that are dry, this has got to be in England and where abouts to get them from??

Edit : Over the summer in Hull I am gonna go to Toni and Guy and see their top stylist, and ask for a great haircut and a style that suits me and is maintainable and the products that will be good for me.

Just a Quick Update.

Whoever recommended the American Crew Fiber Wax gets a big sloppy kiss with tongues and everything :D
The stuff rocks...my quintessential hair product from now on.

Also my mother is gonna pay for me to go to a hair stylist, we were talking about hair last week and she says she'll pay for me :D

I am slowly getting my wardrobe and looks sorted out...it's nice to be making progress! :)

Although its not effective as styling stuff, I'd like to remind everyone of how well a hair dryer and comb can work. Just comb your hair while blowing it in the direction you want can make it look good naturally, and also kind of prime it for styling, as it will take to the form you want easier.

May seem obvious, but I had never even tried a hair dryer until a few weeks ago.

Elmer's Glue? Hmmm... I dunno about that. You're welcome to try if you want. Give us a field report on that, eh? :D

No not Elmer's glue, but it would probably work. I'm using styling glue. Dep just came out with it. It's only $2-3.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.
