Unfortunately, this is what every single average guy you have ever seen does. Every hot girl has already been approached 80 times that day before you talk to her. You need to actually BE an exceptional guy who stands out. One of the easy ways to do this is to be C+F...but now everyone is doing it and the guys who do it aren't actually ****y, they are just using it because it works. Ever wonder why it works? It is because the girls want a ****y guy...not a guy who acts ****y and funny, but the guy who is like that naturally.
I'm going to let you in on something that has bugged me for a while. When I decide to go somewhere as a normal average guy, it sucks. It makes me feel like every female is trying to find a way to NOT talk to me. It forces me to see how difficult it is for the average guy to get anything at all. Its only when I arrange things through my connections that I get the girls. When I show up with 7 people on the VIP list for a website with a booth and an SLR in a club, females are all over me. I can tell that there are 10 sets of eyes on me at all times and the girls are wondering why I am so cool and how I have all these connections that average guys don't.
Strangely enough, I have even been approached by girls who dissed me before...yes, the very same girls. I made such a small and average impression that the girl completely forgot that I ever approached her a couple weeks ago. It makes me sad, but at the same time gives me hope and tells me what I have to do. If I want hot girls, I HAVE TO stand out from the other guys somehow. It is not optional.
Let me ask you something. Since your screen name is Drift King, are you into JDM cars and have a Silvia or something like that? If you are, I would use that exciting part of my life as my one thing that separates me from everyone else and use that as my ticket into the girls pants. My ticket is my photographer alter ego...and you bet I use it every single fvcking chance I get because its not something I am trying to be, its the real me. I might as well tell you that the only reason I hook up with really hot girls is because they wanted me when I was a really cool guy doing something exciting and different. Thats it. I have never taken home a 9 or 10 when I was just some average guy trying to pick up on her.
So the answer you are looking for is, no. You are not doing anything wrong. You are just not putting forth anything that says "I am way cooler and better than the other 80 guys you already talked to today" Here is thought that I have for ya: Instead of approaching girls on campus who are just walking around, wouldn't it be cool to see some hot girl in the parking lot with a 350z and walk up to her and say "nice ride, are you into drifting at all?, cool...Ill be out at this drifting exhibition this weekend, come check me out" And then, when she actually shows up, you don't have to do anything other than say "want to go out tonight after this?" and then you go nail her for a few hours at your place.
