HPV is still not fully understood. One thing is certain, it is very common. Many doctors are of the opinion that it's not even worth mentioning to a partner since they likely have it too. If you've had sex as much as some on here claim, odds are you're a carrier. All it takes is skin-on-skin contact. It is highly contagious and condoms won't always protect you.

There is no test for men. Unless you get warts or a virgin you sleep with gets an abnormal pap smear, you can't know if you have it. The virus can lie dormant for weeks, months, or longer, making it difficult to pinpoint who gave it to you.

High-risk viral strains cause cervical cancer, low-risk strains cause gential warts. Only 5-10% of carriers manifest warts and other than being aesthetically troubling they aren't a big deal. You can have sex with a person who has visible warts and never develop them yourself. It's all about how your immune system handles it. Long-term couples share HPV strains and can clear them together if both are monogamous.

Some people who develop warts can clear them on their own without treatment. Other warts are recalcitant and require many treamtent sessions to clear. Some unfortunate people never clear them.

You can get your girl back, I'm sure of it. Just spin her some lines and that should work, unless she is high maintenance?

Who cares what your family thinks? It is what you think that counts mate.

Also, HPV is common, most people catch it at some point during their lives. I wouldn't worry about it. It could have been a lot worse.

The Truth About HPV... Don't Lose Sleep Over It.

HPV is the STD version of a cold. Everyone gets it, most people never even know it. Why? Because just like a cold, there is no cure, but it goes away on it's own. And then you are immune to that strain, so it is better than a cold in that regard. Also, there are no painful or embarrassing symptoms.

Or it causes cancer (only in women). Which makes it a deadly "cold", for a few unlucky few. Most women only find out they have HPV if it causes cancer, or causes changes to their cells... aka cancerous or possibly cancerous. Some strains cause genital warts, and that sucks.

But HPV in general is harmless, and you either had it, or you will have it. And it will go away on it's own before you even know anything about it, and leave you immune to it. Nothing to lose sleep over.

I really thought this thread was a joke for a passing moment. Everything you said Iggi, is true. I am assuming that the OP doesn't have a cervix, otherwise this probably the wrong site, but I could be wrong, so there is really nothing to worry about.

Hold on. I thought you were going to NEXT her because she lied to you about the number of guys she slept with AND never told you she had HPV - so it was more a trust issue instead of a disease issue.

sorry for bumping this, but get yourself the f*ck togetheter .. You lost her boo-hoo.. You said you had not symptoms (tough I did not read everything very accurate).

HPV can cause a decent amount of things but in most cases NOTHING at all.. The virus should be minimized, or even completly whiped out, by your body within 1-2 years. Now be glad you dont have any crap, cause I just got diagnozed with having HPV, wich in my case caused a prelimenery stage of cancer on the skin. And I'm not even 25. In my case its not the end of the world and in yours it also should not be. You will be fine, and even in a "bad" case if you keep your dck monitored you will be ok.

Now about the girlfriend, she does not diserve you. She started out lying bit by bit. She tells you its 11? haha.. it's eventually going to be something like 30. Now very clearly you are different people in that area of life. So get the **** over it and just see this as a bad learning experience. You will do beter if you try to do beter. Everybody fails, the damage you take while failing is more important.

It's actually almost the exact same case with my ex, she also pretended to be the good girl. Never did she be honest about her past and decieved me in a way, cause i was not looking for a LTR with a slut..(who actually is anyway..?). In reality she was a major slut, heard rumors about something like doing 40 guys. (HPV is not that much of an suprise eh). I guess i learned something.. Hope it makes you feel beter

sorry for the not perfect english, if anything pm me frustrada

There are lots of different strains of HPV. The most prevalent strains are of the non-wart variety. Its most prevalent because many people don't know they have it and it spreads around. With all those strains that do not produce warts, none of them will ever effect men as we are only carriers. (For example, women can carry the gene for color blindness, but it only effects men.) And only the most potent strains can cause cervical cancer in women.

The vaccination out for women only is to prevent the most cancerous strains.

The wart strain is less common because yeah, people aren't usually going to sleep around when their junk is covered in warts. But you still can get it. If you were to sleep with someone with the wart strain you run a 70% percent chance of getting infected with the strain yourself, but only a 1% chance of it becoming symptomatic (i.e. developing warts) The warts do clear up by themselves over time (much like regular warts which is also HPV) but it is much easier to get it removed.

It's the truth though. Whether you choose to believe it or not HPV is extremely common. Just like a cold. HPV is the std equivalent of a cold.

I saw a wart on the backside of a chick from Missouri's lower as5 last MOnday. I hope I didn't get that. She was a drunk, kinda violent for such a deer-like cute face, strong and pounded me good, I couldn't head off my orgasm. She rubbed it out hard-core. I checked out her hands before I fvcked her and sure enough, she had the almost manly hands, and long fingers, which indicated to me that she was gonna be rough in the sack, and she was.
