Condoms are effective against the herpes virus because it cannot pass through latex. You are at practically 100% risk of getting herpes when you make skin contact with outbreaks. That's how the virus spreads itself.
HIV spreads through direct blood contact. Like through tiny cuts.
But what if the girl is having no outbreak? Are you still going to get it if you come in contact with her skin? I know herpes isn't the biggest deal in the world, but still, I take pride in being certifiably STD free and don't want that stigma over my head.

not exactly true......
if the person you are sleeping with has herpes but has no break out or common sore, it is less likely to catch them, but you still can.
especially if they cheated on you and they are about to have their first break out and not know it yet.
and even if they wear a condom, it is only going to protect the exact area that it covers, so if they were infected on the inner leg beside their private part, no condom will protect you...
at least that's how i caught herpes .

They should make an anti-herpes condom. It can basically be like wearing a pair of latex biker shorts with a condom built into it. Anyone want to partner up for my business idea? :woo:

herpes tests are useless and not accurate, doctors know herpes are not a big deal but the media has convinced society that you are an outcast if you have it. They make money off of paranoid people who spend X amount of dollars for a scam.

Unless your immune system or something in your genetics is weird you should be more worried about getting a chick pregnant.

By the way, if you've ever had chicken pox you have herpes

Farrk, why does something ALWAYS have to spoil the equation? Why can't any one thing just be good and not have some horrid side effect?

They should. I'd buy that.

But in an almost always permenantly dormant and harmless form. Chickenpox is to HSV-1 and 2 as the common cold is to Bird Flu.
