When Mahon finally got banned, I thought we might be free of his extremly boring threads.

Nope.

Who cares wether librarians are gay, unless you're looking to hit on one.

Just shut up.

LMAO!!!

Mr. Wolf who are you to say that being a librarian isn't being a success?! People measure success in different ways. He might be doing exactly what he wants to do.

Where is he going to go from there? Head librarian?

You missing my point though, as far as eBay goes.. It's not eBay, I'm selling things, hustling. I can grow by selling other things, and other things, etc, etc.. There is no limit to my success at this point, because I discovered how to be successful..

You all have bosses, and your bosses done something to get there.

If you think they got to be so successful by being a librarian, you are wrong. They got so successful by being positive, and thinking big. I have a pleasure to have been able to discover just what that means. I am able to say that I can expand and make a lot of money.

VS.

Your average hard working joe, be he a librarian or whatever. How to expand and get big Joe? Ohhhh, I don't know, by working hard, honestly, and hopping that someone will come in and give me a raise or promote me..

VS.

My time is now, and I make my own destiny. I will go as far as I can make it.

No limits.

Mr. Wolf, I see what you are trying to say, and you almost have a really good point going there. However, everyone has to start somewhere. Just because he might not get a promotion out of the job he has now to directly advance within it, that doesn't mean that he can't use the knowledge he has earned from it later in an entirely different aspect. Perhaps with a keen knowlege of books, our librarian friend could start up a future chain of book stores. He might well become a famous literary critic, or even a famous author!

You use what you know to build your own future. You are obvisiouly very adept at watching movies... perhaps one day you might try making one. ;)

As for librarians being gay... I never noticed. The only thing I ever noticed was that most of them were old women.

I believe the difference between predominately male and female jobs is ambition, competitiveness or some element of power.

You don't need ambition to be a great librarian.
You don't need vision to be a great librarian.
You don't need competitiveness to be a great librarian.

"Male" jobs tend to be more selfish.
You have to fend for yourself to survive.

Female jobs tend to be more helping and caring.

Power leaves no room for those who are easily influenced by emotion.
Look at men of great power and you will see that they have vision, ambition, competitiveness, and drive.

Look at most women of great power and you will see that they are more ambitious than your average woman. Some may even call them cold-hearted. There is nothing feminine about them.

Alright Mr. Wolf I understand the point your trying to make. Librarian doesn't really offer advancement opportunities, but if one is happy where they are at why should you or society feel they should be trying to advance.

Maybe his job isn't the area of his life he wants to advance at. And theres no reason he might not be investing on the side, raising a family, or even be your competitor on ebay right now and advancing in those walks of life.

what does it matter what a librarian does with his genitals when he is not at work? is seems to me, that while on the clock, all that matters , is that he knows where the books are, and he knows how to shush up the loud mouths.

A REAL MAN is an alpha, a provider.. Makes enough money to provide for himself and live a lavish lifestyle. A real man is a success story, a never ending self improvement machine..

What is a librarian? It's like a waitress. Dead end job, no possibility for advancement.

What you giving us, helping people find information, that is an excuse.. You also putting people in front of you, because you are not your number 1. You are beta. Thus, feminine, a faggit.

Guys, with seduction skills many of us have, you could be making a lot of money by hustling.. Look at me, I'm doing things, eBay, whatever.. Use your brain, and use your magnetism to make yourself a success.. There is no reason why each one of you can't get off your butts and make 100k a year, at least, working for yourselfs.. All of you have enough, and enough to get started, if you could only stop making excuses, come up, and deliver.

To increase your chances of success, always think positive.
It is not a dead end job.

Librarians DON"T make 80-100K a year (unless you are a director) but here are some of the perks if you are a Public Librarian:

a.) Decent Salary

b.) Pension

c.) 3-4 weeks vacation and other great benefits

d.) good job stability

e.) you never have to try to convince people that selling nick knacks on ebay makes your destiny limitless. That you're a true hustler and a REAL MAN. (sorry, that ebay guy is just so funny I can't let it go!)

Speaking of librarians

1) This sounds crazy but it's a running joke between me and a friend that we'd like to go to a naughty librarians convention. I have actually looked to see when a library convention is, so please let me know if there is a major national one to attend!

2) I love librarys. They are like gyms though, I go there mainly to study and read not to flirt.

3) I know alot of you are homophobic, but after dating music major and arts type girls, I lost that stupid issue. Gay guys are fun to hang out with. They aren't a threat to you and they normally are where tons of girls are. It's an easy thing to get over. They won't flirt with you if you make it clear you are straight, which shouldn't be a problem. They will hook you up with the girls they hang out (i.e. music majors, etc) as long as they like you which can't happen if you are a homophobe.

I'm glad that ebay guy got banned. He mentioned ebay in every single one of his posts, what a loser. It's kind of like those guys who have to mention the fact that they have a girlfriend all the time. Or that one girl who has to relate every sentence to the fact that she drives a Benz. Like who gives? Some people feel like they need to prove themselves all the time........those are the people with the most issues who shouldn't be trusted, because they're usually not happy with what they have and want to convince others that they are.

As for the OP - I've never met a male librarian in my life.

Selling items on Ebay is a successful living? I guess "Success" is subjective, but by social norms an Ebay business isn't that spectacular. Now maybe if you were an actual Sales Representative for a large corporation I'd define that as "Successful".

There is no possible way to define success in broad terms. Remember that. To each his own and don't bother me. That is my motto.
