Every January, in Las Vegas (naturally!), the largest Adult Industry tradeshows take place back-to-back, meeting on the day of the Adult Video News (AVN) Awards (the "Oscars" of Sleaze )

This is not-coincidentally timed to coincide with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), one of the largest tradeshows Vegas hosts. Originally, 'Video Software', including porno, was classified as part of 'Consumer Electronics', don'tchaknow - so the Adult Entertainment Expos are [illegitimate!] children of the CES.

Each of them gets paid to do a job which they do better than the clients believe they could do for themselves, and they gain recognition, status, and respect through their reputation, which ultimately enhances their market-value, and therefore their rates.

The greater the variety of clients, the more advanced and skillful the professional must become, to deal with their needs effectively.

The idea that a woman who has sex with FEWER partners is somehow MORE DESIRABLE has never made any sense to me.

Indeed - a MAJOR part of the workshops I offer explicitly work to remedy this problem. ONLY once a man recognizes that he's been viewing ALL women though a massively distorted lens can he begin to undo his FUBAR societal programming, and begin to disarm women, so they can be themselves with him, and share themselves with him on all levels: emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

I've worked in the porn industry both in the retail business and behind the camera.

I'm not one to name drop but I had Adam Glass's (Seymore Butts) cell on my speeddial. I'm no slouch.

A Pornstar is generally a woman who's used to being mistreated and under-appreciated, shunned & disrespected, YET has plenty of the 'trappings' of success, such as plenty of ready-money, celebrity status for events (Pornstars never wait in line, don't pay for tickets to concerts, even get promotional movie 'Screener' DVDs!) and seating at restaurants... They usually drive hot cars, live in fine homes... but are not afforded any respect.

It's a bizarre situation for them, PARTICULARLY when it comes to dating.
