I'm recently out of school and have been interviewing with several companies. Lately I've noticed that when I'm interviewing for a job, young female interviewers will often display subtle IOIs during the course of the interview. (stroking hair, wrist scratching, lip licking etc.) Whether conscious or not, there could be some subtle subconscious attraction there.
Think about it - A job interview is just one long DHV. You've got your best suit on. You're impeccably groomed. You're one-on-one and holding eye contact the entire time. If the guy is particularly young, handsome, dapper, articulate, and doing a good job selling himself, the girl can't help but feel the gina tingling.
While it's the older dudes that usually make the final call, younger female employees do have sway in hiring decisions. Basically she's picturing seeing you working alongside her Monday-Friday, 9 to 5. Why wouldn't she want a suave guy?
While DJ skills are mostly used in pick-up, I'm thinking it could have very useful applications in other contexts. Question for the DJs - have you had success applying your DJ skills, or 'gaming' your way through a job interview?
