These people are stuck in the bullsh1t of bodybuilding, forgetting about the oldschool methods and simple ways to gain muscle.
Actually the old school that you are referring to, ie Pumping Iron 60s,70s. Was purely on form, effort. Strength always came last. Listen to anything coming out of Arnolds mouth. He never focused on lifting heavy. Watch how he lifted,he never lifted heavy, always pure form and reps. Actions speak louder then words. (also disregard anything you don't see him do on tape- I don't care what articles say he did cause every article and program in magazines I see go entirely against what he did on any documentary or 'docudrama' as he calls them)
Someone says they eat alot, chances are they don't even understand the meaning of eating alot, I'm talking 10000+ calories with plenty of FAT (saturated baby), carbs and Protein.
If your eating that many calories a day I can promise you that at least 1/2 of it is crap. Not fresh and raw foods.
Now I eat much less than that, yet I still make significant gains, which makes me find it hard to believe people's claims of it only being possible to gain 1lb a month, when they then go on to tell me I'm not "allowed" to squat 3 times a week.
Have you ever squatted to the point where you can't walk following your last two or last set? How about leg extensions until you can't even stand up straight? IF you were lifting this hard weekly or bi weekly you would know that there is no way the muscles can heal fast enough regardless of the protein intake quality or quantity.
